Charming hotel, but it is old so expect creaky wooden floors and loud doors. It's quite the hike from the train so if you have luggage definitely call for the shuttle. Breakfast was delicious. We had dinner there 2 nights and the food, while expensive (but everything is in Switzerland, was superb. Staff was very helpful and kind.

Extremely disappointing

I can’t believe the good reviews of this hotel! The only explanation I can think of is that we must have been given the worst room in the hotel.
Never before have I paid so much money for such a poor room! It was impossible to shower without continuously holding the shower head !!!!
The toilet had a cheap plastic seat that reminded me of the 1970’s! The rest of the bathroom was tacky to say the least. There was vinyl on the walls and weird foam flower stickers! Certainly not a period bathroom. There were holes all over the place too.
The bedroom itself was very basic but clean.
Breakfast was relatively sparse and incomparable with the higher standard we experienced in other Swiss hotels.
I would NEVER choose to stay here ever again despite the beautiful location.

The location was great and I understand it was a historic building but it needs lots of upgrade. The flooring need to change. It was making lots of noise when walking in it , bedding was not comfortable especially the blanket and pillows.

It was a very convenient location to the train station. Very quaint. Bathroom is small. Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly and helpful

The hotel was beautiful and historic. The walk up the hill with luggage was doable, but for those needing assistance, you can pay for a ride up. Being up on the hill made for a beautiful view. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Being an older hotel, there were minor issues, but that was part of the charm. Our rooms were on the top floor and there was no air conditioning so a bit uncomfortable sleeping. They did have fans in the room which was nice. The kids slept in a loft and they thought that was fun. Breakfast was great. Would stay here again.
