Comfortable stay in Zermatt

This is a very nice but old hotel located centrally in Zermatt. I have stayed at this hotel pre and post Haute Route trek and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They let me store my luggage for free and even let me check in early both times. The check in desk is located in a next door hotel which is very nice and modern, hotel Alpina is quite old and definitely needs improvement.

So, we had to check in at the hotel next door - didn't know that till we read the sign on the door. The hotel is a few blocks from train station through the heart of Zermatt, and some curvy allys to get there. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a shared terrace but it was a little dirty but no big deal. Beds were comfy. Had to borrow hair dryer at front desk - they don't supply them in the room. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We got there early and they have a room to keep your luggage safe and secure that includes a shower! If I ever went again, I'd consider this hotel to stay at un Zermatt! Oh, also included a breakfast that I unfortunately we did not partake in because we had to leave early.

Room was basic, but that's what I expected. Property and room were clean. The staff was excellent and helpful.

very small rooms

We were transported at least 30 years into the past in terms of amenities. A small bathroom was subsequently installed in the already very small room. The price-performance ratio is probably still correct due to the location. Breakfast was not included.

Simple and affordable accommodation. Nice view from the our room in the 4th floor. Very pleasant staff.
