Nice hotel in a convenient area

Our family of three stayed in a relaxed comfort room. It was not quite as nice as we expected from the pictures, but still comfortable beds and a nice bath area with good water pressure. The location works well as you can walk to many areas of interest. The noise level was fine. The staff were kind and the breakfast was very good with many items to choose from. The only inconvenience was when I asked for a taxi for a one kilometer ride to the train station the staff said the fare was about 20-25 Euros, but neglected to tell me they ordered some kind of specialty taxi that charged me 45 Euros for one kilometer! I would have Ubered it if I had known this in advance. We walked back and it was only 15 minutes.

Good quality-price ratio

The hotel is ideally located, the rooms are large, with plenty of cleaning and comfortable bed. Only the pillows are very soft. Breakfast is varied.

Just ok

Great location, friendly staff, but hotel could really use some updating. Carpets are stained and have bleach spots in places, dusty vents, generally feels like it’s ready for a refresh- I didn’t want to touch the floor with my bare feet (thankfully they do give you slippers). Good breakfast

Not a Four Star Hotel !

This is the third time I have stayed at GbT while on a business visit in Zurich . I do not believe that this hotel qualifies for the four stars it purports to be - at most it is a middle ranking 3 star. I was charged SF 258 for one night in a room that had a mobile and very noisy mobile air conditioner as the built in system has broken down . The carpet was dirty , there was hair in the bath from a previous guest and the Wi Fi required signing on again when you moved around the hotel or temporarily switched your phone off.
The good pints are its location and a reasonable (3 star) restaurant ( I had dinner and breakfast). The staff were helpful - but no more than you would expect . There are other similar hotels nearby that charge a lot less - and I will be staying in one of them in the future .
