Peaceful hotel next to a rice field with special coffee

My family stayed at this B&B for 2 nights. There were no other guests during our stay so it was quiet. My children practiced on the house piano. The breakfast is exceptional. It was homemade. One day it was western style. The other day it was traditional taiwanese style. The owner arranged for her son-in-law to bring us around to tour. We went to a hot spring spa and the traditional cultural center. The tour guide also spent an evening with us walking in the local night market showing us which items to order. It was excellent service and we enjoyed it very much.

Clean minsu, friendly and very helpful minsu owner

Free transport is provided from the Luodong bus station to minsu when we arrive and depart. Minsu is located in a quiet area with a padi field next to it. Room for two person on the 2nd floor is spacious and clean. Bath towels are given and you can top up mineral water which is placed outside the roon.
Breakfast is included at either 8am or 9am which the owner make themselves. We chose to have our breakfast outdoors as the weather and scenary is more pleasant.
Both the minsu owner and her daughter-in-law (Ms Huang) were very nice and friendly. They suggested a few places that we could visit in Yilan and even helped us to call for cab to bring us to the train station.
Ms Huang was very helpful and whatsapp us the directions to get to Miaoli from Taipei when the minsu owner told her that we were unsure how to get Miaoli. This was after we had checked out of the minsu. Really appreciated the help given by Ms Huang as our Miaoli minsu owner was not able to guide us at all.

Spacious family room in a friendly family-owned accommodation

Stayed 2 nights from 22-24 July with my wife, daughter and in-laws (parents, sister and uncle). We were warmly welcomed by the female host at the entrance and promptly shown to our family room for 6 at the top floor (level 3). Location is just 10-min drive away from the popular Luodong Night Market (traffic depending). Room comes with 3 double beds, 2 toilets and a sofa area for relaxing. It was well decorated with many soft toys.
Breakfast was simple but delicious and healthy. The dining area was actually a cafe operated by the owner's son. On the day of checking out, my 1yr-old daughter was running a fever. The female host got to know it and offered her a traditional aloe vera drink which she always give to her grandchildren whenever they fell sick. Was grateful for the gesture as my kid really recovered by the same afternoon! Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to stay in Yilan!

Friendly stay

We stayed in the biggest 6 person room on the third floor and had a comfortable stay. All beds had soft toys that my kids love. Really appreciated the 2 toilets that made it convenient for us especially when there are so many of us.
The owners were friendly and allowed us to check in anytime we want. Gary (brother of Ms Liao) even helped us to on the aircon half an hr before we reached (I msged them thru Line).
The surroundings were rice paddy fields which made it a peaceful getaway from the city.
We all slept well and woke up to the highlight of the stay which is their homemade breakfast. There were homemade bread (3 diff types) with pumpkin soup (another choice was corn soup) and other small dishes like almonds, kiwis, beans (organically grown by their neighbour). Good coffee and low sugar organic homemade soya milk available too.
Ms Liao and Gary (and their family) were very friendly and helpful. We would have love to chat with them further if we were not so tired after a red eye flight and had to leave early the next day. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Homestay that truly lives up to its name

If you are going from Taipei, take the Gemalan bus from the Taipei Bus Station and the journey takes an hour. The bus service terminates at a convenience store near the Luodong Station. From there, the owner will bring you to the Homestay which is about 10 min away.
The Homestay is located right next to a paddy field with lots of small farmland within sight from the balcony of our room on the second storey. The Homestay is run by 廖小姐 and her parents, all of whom are most helpful and friendly. Feel free to ask for directions to the various places of interest such as the Luodong night market. 廖小姐 will give you very precise directions wherever you wish to go.
As we had to catch an early morning bus to our next destination, her father woke up as early as 4am to whip up a delicious and colorful organic breakfast for us at 6am. The freshly baked bread and tasty pumpkin soup perked us up for the day. The organic soy milk freshly made that morning was most unforgettable! To make sure that we caught our bus, he not only sent us to the bus stop nearby but waited with us until we boarded the bus and gave precise instructions to the bus driver regarding our destination.
If you are looking for a clean and peaceful abode in Yilan with a chance to interact with the local community and savor Taiwanese home cooked food, this is the place for you!
