Bring your walking poles and embrace the youth camp vibe!

Aside from Silks or Leader Village (both of which are ridiculously expensive) there aren’t many options to stay right in the middle of the park, and this is probably the best. It’s definitely a hostel vibe – plastic chairs and simple buffet meals – but it’s a wonderful, cost-effective place to stay. I was really pleased with it. Great room with an awesome view, and it didn’t matter that the beds are rock-hard as we slept like logs after all-day hiking. Friendly, helpful staff.

Room was clean and large, good beds, clean bathroom. The building itself is a bit old but has charm. The breakfast wasn't great.

Basic but good hotel in the middle of Taroko National park

This stay in the middle of the park was the best choice we could make.
Don't come here for the good food but for the views, the proximity to trails and stunning and beautiful nature. Rooms have everything you need but are nothing fancy, value for money. Staff is very nice. Would stay here again!

Great location.

Great location, right in the middle of the park. Clean and good showers. Reasonably priced. The dinner wasn't great but I was happy to see a good variety of vegetable-based dishes, a soup, and oranges for dessert. Favourite dish was minced pork on rice. Breakfast was better than dinner and included hot soy milk.

Taroko youth center

The rooms are ok, although you might stumble upon some ants or geckos. Unfortuneately the smell of the room was not so nice, as is often the case in asia.
But there are not many options around if you want to spend a night in taroko gorge and the location is very good. You can even see some monkeys in the garden if you are lucky.
The food there was the worst I ate in Taiwan so far. I tried the dinner buffet and it was so bad that I skipped the breakfast on the next day.
