Victoria Hotel, Anning Street, Kaoshiung, Taiwan

I made a reservation for the Sumitomo Hotel which is also along Anning Street but 400 meters away. Agoda however changed mine to Victoria Hotel supposedly due to "renovations". Victoria Hotel is a better location much closer to the railway station & to the main thoroughfare & other business/shopping areas. Sumitomo Hotel's frontage & back are surrounded by shops. Therefore very cluttered. Anning Street along that stretch is choked with traffic. So the change was a blessing in disguise. The reception staff are all very friendly. So was the Manager Ms Huang. They helped us with maps & information. No problem for me to communicate with them in English & my half-baked Mandarin. However unlike their competitors of similar class the hotel does not provide free internet facilities, that is, a PC in a common area.
Hotel is clean & housekeeping is good. My room was well lit and so was the lobby & reception areas.
Rates are reasonable.

Old Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The English name of this hotel is Sumitomo Hotel (this is the name I saw on the outside of the hotel).
This is an old hotel, located 5 mins walk away from the rear exit of the Kaohsiung Railway Station. 2 bottles of drinking water and a flask of hot water are provided. There are 2 queen sized beds for the twin room that I booked.
Breakfast is provided free of charge, though it was not included when I made the booking of the room. Breakfast includes Taiwan porridge and bread (buffet syle).
At only SGD49 per night, I think the hotel is not bad.

高雄駅のそば

高尾駅のすぐそばですが、裏出口方面なので連絡路を通る必要がありました。
出口からは近いのですが、ちょっと暗い通りです。でもささっと歩けば大丈夫な距離だと思います。部屋は古めしたが値段も安く、申し分なく快適に過ごせました。朝食はおかゆやお惣菜等充実した内容で満足できました。

やや寂しい場所です

高雄駅の裏口方面に有るため、ナイトライフを楽しみたい人には物足りないかもしれません。でも、価格を考えれば部屋の広さ、そして、朝食が付いていたことを考えると私には十分だったと思います。
チェックインにはすこし早すぎるかなと思ってフロントに行ったのですが、
快く手続きして頂けチェックインできました。

安いです

駅から近いですが、裏口なので地下鉄を乗ったりするには、少し不便でした。
部屋はきれいですし、朝食もおいしく、スタッフも親切で満足でした。
日本語は通じませんが、英語は大丈夫でした。
