Great location hotel in Taipei with reasonable price
Great location just 5 mins walk to metro station and 10 mins walk to airport shuttle bus stop. Warm welcome by staffs once you got eye contact with them; detailed and useful information provided by Front Desk Agents. Room is spacious with trendy design. Don't worry if you forgot to bring any amenities, the hotel will provide everything you need.

The hotel is much better than expected.
Clean, quiet.
The staff is very sweet and well prepared to help. They go much beyond the expectations, helping with tips around the city, providing water, umbrela and bikes whenever necessary.

The Hotel was beautiful and functional. But the standout qualities were the excellent service of the staff. I stayed in 3 Taipei hotels this year and their service is the best. Upon check-in, you are asked to sit in the lobby without standing and queueing, they come to you with the registration papers and card terminal for the check-in (What a great idea!). There is free water, coffee, tea and bread in the lobby virtually all day so its a great convenience feature. The hotel is pet friendly so its a bonus to see all the cute dogs around. Location is also excellent and located so near from the shopping malls like Sogo and Mitsukoshi. Family Mart and 7-11 is also just a short walk away. The only downside is that their breakfast is very limited at the Tavern restaurant upstairs but that is already nit-picking as this is just a boutique hotel and not a big 5-star hotel. Overall, I would rate it 90% (excellent) and an absolute recommend for those who want to stay in a nice hotel without blowing your budget.

The Kimpton and Staff really make you feel special.
Exemplary - the hotel is beautiful. The location is great. The staff, makes the entire difference.
At happy hour upon arrival, we met Rohit, Hunter, and William (there are many other exceptionally helpful staff members). We stayed for 3 nights. They were so nice, welcoming, helpful and engaging, it is hard to put into words. Not just for us, ALL of the guests. We travel a good amount, and we have never felt better taken care of than by the staff at Kimpton Da An.
On day one, William Chiang checked on us during happy hour. We talked about the usual, where we have been, what we are planning to do, … he was focused on our experience. As we made friends, we ended up learning that he had gone to University in the USA. Turns out, he went to Penn State. As did I, and our daughter. We reminisced.
Next night, at happy hour (by the way, the happy hour, and the associated canapes, are outstanding, and different, every night!). We talked more with William, and learned that we had both played varsity sports for 2 years at a PSU branch campus, and then went on to Main campus in State College to focus on studies.
When I asked about his family, he said his little brother also went to Penn State, and graduated from the rather small Nuclear Engineering program. So did I, except 35 years earlier. Small world!
My point is this: Had William not been so engaging in the first place, we never would have known! However, he did. And now we have a friend in Taipei, and we would welcome him and his family to stay with us in the future at the drop of a hat.
William Chiang, Rohit, Hunter and others made such a memorable difference for us! Which means, the Kimpton management supports them, and their guests, in order for that to happen.
There is much more (the Tavernist and breakfast, the pet friendly, the cool hotel, …), what a great place!
