Calming forest paradise hidden in the city, highly recommended

I can absolutely recommend this tranquil paradise amidst the bustle of the city – just a few hundred meters from the main road but feels like a secret sanctuary in the forest. A little run-down in some common areas but that didn’t stop it being a great place to stay. Big, clean, well-appointed room, friendly and helpful host, great breakfast. I didn’t need the WiFi so can’t comment. Good value for money. Definitely would stay again.

It’s a really great place if you are looking for some nature, peace and quite! The b&b looks so pretty, and the road to it even more beautiful!
I had a large balcony but you should be aware of the mosquitos since I got bitten a lot.
Location is about 20-25 mins walk to city centre but there is a supermarket just 5-7 mins walk

A quiet place surrounded by greenery

The Dream Home B&B (夢田信箱田園民宿) is hidden away in a quiet spot of Hualien city, fairly close to the Tzi Chu University campus. A friend's friend who lives in Hualien booked it for us, otherwise we would have never found it! This B&B is composed of a few cottages surrouded by a lush garden. We spent one night in the cute small house with its own enclosed garden, a very cozy accommodation. There was a sitting area with TV, fridge, and a handy hot/cold water dispenser (coffee/tea bags, bottled water and snaks were available). Free WIFI connection was not very stable. Beyond the living area, the bedroom with a good comfy bed and a French window opening onto a large balcony on the back of the house, looking over the forest (I loved waking up to the singing of the birds!). Large bathroom with bath tub and shower, the only minus point was the shower faucet not working very well (hopefully it has been repaired by now). Breakfast was served in the homely dining room in the reception building. The breakfast was a set menu with tea or coffee, sandwich, soup, fruits, a pudding, served at the table; it might be considered a bit scarce by those who are used to a big breakfast, but we found it Ok, just what we needed.
What we loved of this B&B? The tranquillity and the privacy, the green surroundings and the simplicity of the hospitality.

General nice place to stay

I had a great trip in Hualien this time. I booked this hostel on the day we arrived in Hualien. The location is not that near city, but it's a good way to enjoy the country side.
The room is big and comfortable. The bed is really nice to sleep.
It's a place suitable for family to stay.
