Good Hotel

A functional hotel in a central location with friendly staff. The hotel rooms are okay, the bathrooms are modern and quite new. Breakfast is served in the basement, which is quite uncomfortable. But I would book there again in spite of this.

Great food but need better service

We were here for family lunch. The food cook nice, but need more service. The waitress does not service the table very often. And they have very limited drink for selection. Environment is clean with free parking. An old fashion traditional Tainan city hotel.

Strategic location

Visited with family in Apr 2019. The overall experience with the hotel is good.
1. Walking distance to train station and several tourist attractions i.e. Chihkan tower.
2. Self-service laundry is available in the hotel.
3. Room is clean even though the hotel is abit dated.
4. Breakfast is good.
5. Free bicycle lending service.

Good location, nice staff but dated, smoky room

We stayed at Dynasty Hotel for 2 nights in Feb 2019 - we picked this hotel as it was bith a short walk from the station plus close to all the main temples & attractions.
The reception staff were very polite and friendly and even let us check in a little early - the reception area and downstairs banquet room were a little dated (reminiscent of a hotel from the 1970s).
Our room was also very dated and a little stuffy (no windows) - the bathroom fittings were salmon pink in colour (!) and quite stained. We also didn't sleep too well as the mattress was hard and the bed small.
The thing I disliked most about this hotel is that both our room and the corridor stank of leftover cigarette smoke (it is a non-smoking hotel so it may have come through the vents from a mischevious smoker's room). Wifi was weak and intermittent.
The location was good so this is great for a one night stopover or business stay - however, we felt the room a little oppressive for a three night stay. This hotel needs a renovation, especially the bathrooms.

Noisy rooms and false advertisement

I saw great prices for the hotel online and called them to confirm the rates. The rates they quoted me over the phone matched what I saw online so I booked with them directly over the phone. When I arrived late in the evening and went to pay for the rooms, all of a sudden the rates are 1.5X more than what they had originally said. They lied and said they never quoted me the price, even as I pulled out what the price for the room was online (including taxes and service charges). They refused to honor the price they originally quoted us or the one shown online. I had no where else to go and had to stay there paying a much higher rate than originally anticipated.
The rooms were somewhat clean, but the soundproofing is awful. I heard cars zipping by the street all night long, and my room wasn't even facing the main road!
Greatly disappointed. Make sure to get everything in writing from the hotel before you book and perhaps look elsewhere if you're a light sleeper... There are tons of other great hotels and B&B's in the city. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.
