Not bad

Was here only for two nights for business. Not a bad place to be. No airconditioning so be aware of that. Food was pretty good. A lot of noice from the church next door. Not sure if I would go there again

So so For the Not-so-special

The hotel is moderately good, located a few hundred meters from the central bus station, the main sports stadium (Sheikh Amri Abeid) and the main market. It is a stone-throw away from the Museum for Arusha Declaration, where the famed resolution that Tanzania follows her own mode of socialism (Ujamaa and self-reliance) was reached.
A middle class hotel with moderate amenities, it offers reasonable rates for its mid-level services. Hot water is available on all three floors. Free Wifi is excellent at the ground floor but erratic on the upper floors. The restaurant offers good food but of limited choice. Satellite TV services are available at all rooms, but with very few channels to screen.
It is a cosy place which easily makes customers addicted to it, may be also because of the good services offered by many of its staff members, mostly young women.

Be aware of the staff at the reception by making sure when you pay the give you the ticket

The hotel environment is s good but be aware of the ladies at the reception. I spent six days and paid for four days on first installment. When I was about leave and wanted to pay the remaining two nights, they told me I have paid for three days. After a long troubled argument I had to pay twice for one night .
My advice to all vistors make sure that they give you both receipt (The government and the hotel receipt) when you pay otherwise the money end up in the pockets of receptionists and you have to pay twice.

It was very astonishing to me during my fist arrival to Briston Hotel in Arusha where I welcomed by a charming Receptionist Rucy with another Housekeeper.
Definitely the all stuffs are well dressed, mannered and professionally.

Briston Hotel in Arusha

It's a relatively new building, average standard, cost usd35. The problem was the service... I don't think the girls wanted to speak English. I had a problem to get to town to buy some Tz shillings. They couldn't care less. Didn't have a map or any literature to help me find my way around. I was rescued by a random act of kindness - a chap parked outside ran me down to town and back to the cambio, it took five minutes.
There was a pre-used wet towel, ugh, in my room. They have a brochure which oversells the hotel in a big way. I have to give it three stars because of the price. I was just passing through and so it was OK. Last point - they didn't want to give me a receipt.
