Great place for tours in the Mikumi area

We can warmly recommend the place !!!.
We stayed there for 8 days and enjoy the cosy atmosphere and the sweetest staff.
A perfect starting point for safari in Mikumi National Park, as well as Udzungwa waterfall and much more. We were also on tours to weaving in Ifakara as well as a trip in Iringa.
After a day of hiking it was nice to come back and enjoy a sundowner at the pool.
The owner speaks Danish, if you're not quite sharp in Swahili :-)

Busy camp, but still not feeling crowded

This camp seems to be very popular with many guests coming and going. The overall feeling wasn’t still too much crowded.
This review is for two separate visits, first we had xxx and second the big family room. Both were recently renovated so everything was nice and in good condition. The family room was luxuriously spacious. Air conditioning worked very well. Only thing we missed, was a wardrobe to put your clothes and other stuff in.
The pool area is nice and inviting with a bar and sunbeds. In the evening there is a firepit that creates a nice atmosphere. Garden is really nice with some beautiful sunbirds and paradise flycatcher.
Food at the restaurant is buffet style. It´s good quality with many options to choose from. At the breakfast there is also a chef to prepare your eggs as you wish. Packed lunch available too.
I would stay here again, especially in the family room.

Very small accommodation

Varied park with cottages and tents. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage with a dated shower/toilet. Bed was 160 x180 so pretty cramped with a mosquito net that stretched around the mattress. Room was so small that you could dress with one person at a time. The other had to wait outside or on the bed. No room for your suitcase. One could fit on a table. Sheets had stains.
The Mood was quite gloomy due to the many low trees without undergrowth. In the evening it seemed like something but the lights were just on enough to find your house again. Also the pool was not clean. Unfortunately the bad luck that behind our cottage a local birthday was celebrated that lasted until 5 in the morning.
The food was mediocre, both breakfast and dinner and staff didn't feel like it anymore.

Modern camp close to the park

15 minutes drive from the national park entrance. Quiet location, security secured. Single standing houses, with clean large rooms and bathrooms, some with several double beds. Air conditioning and fan. Mosquito net. Catering in buffet form, very good. Laundry service. Big pool. Staff very friendly.

Beautiful location.

Nice location with a beautifully landscaped garden. Nice rooms with very spacious bathroom. Too bad the large pool was renovated during our stay.
