Disappointing, run-down hotel with little care for guests

This hotel feels old, tired, and completely uncared for — it’s clear that maintenance and guest comfort are not priorities here.
The attitude of the staff was one of the biggest letdowns. They showed no interest whatsoever in guests or the hotel itself. When we arrived, there was no friendly greeting or smile; the first words we heard were simply “passports”, delivered with zero warmth.
When we entered our room, we were shocked by how poorly cleaned it was. The shower was completely blocked, clogged up with hair left behind from previous guests. It was filthy overall, with the head completely black from mould. The water only trickled out through the blocked, mould-covered fixture, and barely got warm enough to use. The shower walls were grimy, and we even found pubic hairs scattered around the space — totally unacceptable. The small sofa in the room was another issue; it was heavily stained and extremely dirty, clearly never deep-cleaned.
Furnishings were in a sorry state too. The bed’s headboard had been broken, shoddily repaired, and broken again. You could clearly see the messy fixes, with loose screws and nails sticking out. The faux leather covering was heavily worn, cracked, and peeling away. The bed sheets had rips and holes in them, and even after they were changed a few times during our stay, the same issues were still there.
Our balcony doors were permanently locked. When we asked to have them opened, we were told all balconies were kept locked for safety because they weren’t structurally sound. This meant we had no way to get fresh air into the room at all.
Many lights in the room didn’t work, and the TV remote was broken. We were given a replacement, but it only turned the TV on — nothing else worked. As a result, we were stuck watching just one channel: a children’s cartoon station in Thai, for our entire stay.
The wardrobe was completely unusable as its door wouldn’t open, leaving us with nowhere to hang clothes or dry beach towels and swimwear. When I asked for a drying rack, I was told “nothing can be dried in the room — we have a laundry service for that”. That service came at an extortionate price of 400 THB per item. By comparison, we used a laundry shop just around the corner that charged 100 THB for 20kg of washing — a huge difference.
The pool area is very poor quality overall. There are only 9 sun loungers in total, set out on badly laid artificial grass. The pool itself looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages: tiles were missing everywhere, and the grout between them was green with mould. The water was visibly dirty, and unfortunately, swimming in it caused me to develop an ear infection shortly after.
Throughout our stay, whenever we walked past staff when entering or leaving, they never once acknowledged us — even when we passed right by them. This was especially striking because, during our 2-week trip, we stayed at three other hotels, all of which were welcoming, friendly, and made us feel valued. This hotel, sadly, fell far short of that standard.

The room was dirty, but they were so helpful and gave us a new upgraded room. But the cleanliness could have been better.

its haunted

we went to furama silom hotel back in 2023 and let me tell you, that place is haunted. the staff was rude aswell, the place was dirty. me and my cousins were staying in a room together and creepy things were happening. my two other cousins heard the sink open by itself, the tv turned on by itself, there was smoke coming out of the air condition, my dad saw the closet open up by itself, my uncle saw a ghost and my other cousin saw it too. we wanted to leave the hotel, but they wouldn’t give us the money back so we were forced to stay there. also we rented 3 vans and all the drivers said that they saw a woman committing suicide there. and I’ve read others reviews who experienced the same thing. some even actually encountered the ghost and her child. the staff members don’t tell you about this at all. the hotel is also built on old graveyards and the other hotel beside it is also haunted. so I will never return to this hotel ever again.
