Perfetto!

Authentic experience in a beautiful house in perfect Thai style. We were warmly welcomed and supported in everything we wanted to do. Timmy was an exceptional host. Nice room, comfortable bed, fully functioning air conditioner, great and plentiful breakfast. Nulla di meglio da desiderare!

Great choice for visiting Bangkok in complete authenticity

Great welcome from Timmy, really adorable, in this beautiful colonial style villa full of charm.
We feel like home, in a very cozy and authentic atmosphere.
Rooms rather large and in the same tone as the rest.
Very good and complete breakfast, the staff takes great care.
Excellent location, within walking distance of major sites but quiet (small popular streets to access them, we like it)
A great choice for visiting Bangkok in complete authenticity!

Sewage smell and unclean room

I don't like to write negative reviews, but I wish that the existing reviews had properly conveyed the problems with this place. The constant smell of sewage and unhealthy air quality from this uncleanly place, made it difficult to breathe without constant coughing and to sleep at night, compelling an early departure. I have stayed in countless homestays across 5 continents (including another homestay in Thailand, which I liked), and have a proper expectation that "things won't be like they are at home," or even as in a standard hotel. However, this does not excuse what appeared to be an extreme indifference to basic cleanliness (for which I also have a rather low expectation, and this is one of the very few places that didn't meet it). I could complain about other things, too: the street being too narrow for drop-offs and pick-ups (in a city where you need a lot of them), the shady atmosphere of the immediate area, the shower head pointing the wrong way across the filthy tub onto the dingy bathmat, the annoying solicitations from the owner to book tours we repeatedly said we didn't need or want, and the disappointing breakfast. But we could have ignored most of that if it weren't for the sewage smell and air quality. While it seems like a good value (it certainly is inexpensive), and the charming common area photographs well, you have been warned.

Welcoming staff, friendly comfortable stay.

I loved the peaceful, comfortable, happy ambience created by the villa’s presentation and the staff particularly Timmy. Timmy was so welcoming and friendly and would always go the extra mile to ensure her guests were cared for. Delicious breakfast, and coffee/ tea and muffins available throughout the day.
Excellent location, very quiet, homely narrow back street near a canal. Delicious Thai food nearby.

Hidde Gem, great place to stay in Bangkok

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in this small old kolonial hotel. The room was spacey, good bed and bathroom.
It's hidden in a small alley near Democracy Monument. The owners and staff are superbe. The serve great breakfast, give you wonderful suggestions like to visit Ayattthaya and arrange all you need. Lovely people. Highly recommended. Thank you so much for this wonderful stay.
