Phra Singh Village is a great place to stay in Chiang Mai Thailand
Our first visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and we chose to stay at Phra Singh Village Hotel. We couldn't have picked a better location. It's within easy walking distance of plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars, and only a short walk or quick Grab ride to many of Chiang Mai's famous markets and temples. (We used the Grab app throughout Thailand and found it affordable, reliable, and very easy to use.)
Phra Singh Village is a wonderful place to stay. The staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The restaurant serves fresh, delicious food, and the pool is a great place to cool off after a day of sightseeing. While the pool area can feel a little crowded at times due to the narrow seating space, it's still a lovely facility. There's also a well-equipped gym for those wanting to stay active, and guests receive a complimentary 10-minute neck and shoulder massage each day—a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated.
As with any honest review, there are a few areas where we think the hotel could improve. The pool lounges were quite uncomfortable and sat very low to the ground. Because of the limited space, some loungers are positioned almost end-to-end, and with only 12 available, the area can feel cramped. We also found that many of the restaurant chairs have very thick, soft cushions. Although they look inviting, they sink so much that you're left sitting too low, making the table feel almost chest height, which isn't very comfortable during meals and not great for shorter people and kids. These are relatively minor issues, but addressing them would make an already excellent hotel even better.
Finally, we'd like to thank the entire team for making our stay so enjoyable. A special mention goes to the two young trainee staff members in the restaurant. They were consistently cheerful, friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic in looking after guests. Their positive attitude made every meal a pleasure. We also commend the hotel management for investing in young people and giving them the opportunity to develop their hospitality skills. If it aligns with their career goals, these two young ladies would be a wonderful addition to the team in permanent roles.
We met our Thai friend who also stayed at the hotel and loved it so much she recommended it to many of her other friends.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Phra Singh Village and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. We would certainly stay here again.

Fantastic stay—spacious rooms, great food, and wonderful service!
We absolutely loved our stay at Phra Singh Village and would definitely choose it again. The room was incredibly spacious and comfortably accommodated the three of us without feeling crowded. The food throughout our stay was fantastic—the breakfast was delicious, and we also had dinner and drinks at the hotel restaurant, which was excellent. What really made our stay special was the staff, who were so friendly and helpful. Plus, the extra perks that came with our reservation were a wonderful bonus. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous boutique hotel
We picked this gorgeous boutique hotel for its location within the old town. Everything is walkable and there are loads of restaurants around the hotel.
We had a deluxe room with balcony. Little touches like the mini bar, afternoon tea, daily activities and a 10 minute massage are all included. The massage was amazing.
Highly recommend this hotel.

Super Charming Boutique Hotel
We absolutely loved our stay at Phra Singh Village. The biggest standout was the staff. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortless. We were greeted with a refreshing sweet tea, accommodated with an early check-in without even asking, and our luggage somehow made it to our rooms before we even thought about it. Check-in was completely seamless.
One of the things we loved most is that this is a small, incredibly charming boutique hotel. The intimate size allows the staff to provide a level of personalized service that’s hard to replicate at a much larger property. They quickly recognize you, remember your preferences, and genuinely make you feel cared for. Because it’s a smaller property, they can simply take care of you instead of sending you through a long process, and that level of service continued throughout our stay.
The hotel is full of thoughtful little touches. We were welcomed with fresh fruit and a handwritten note, and on our last night they left another sweet note along with a handmade elephant keychain that was such a thoughtful keepsake. The complimentary afternoon tea and free 10-minute massages each afternoon were another unexpected bonus.
The location was perfect for us. You’re right in the heart of Chiang Mai’s Old City and can walk almost everywhere, but the hotel is tucked away on a quiet little street, so the moment you walk through the doors it feels peaceful and removed from the crowds.
We were traveling as a family with two teenagers and booked two rooms: one with a king bed and one with two twin beds. The hotel was able to place our rooms close to one another, which we really appreciated. Overall, the hotel team delivered an experience that felt far more expensive than the price we paid.
One last thing: the entire place smells fantastic. It has this fresh neroli/bergamot scent throughout the property that I wish I could bottle and take home. (Maybe that’s why they’re so serious about their no-durian policy! )
A couple of helpful things to know before you arrive: there is a 2,000 baht cash security deposit due at check-in. I’m sure it was mentioned before our stay, but I’d forgotten, and we were lucky to have enough cash on us. Also, if you’re visiting during the rainy season, I’d highly recommend booking a third-floor balcony room. Watching the afternoon rain showers roll through from the balcony became one of our favorite parts of the day.
We’d absolutely stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai
