Awesome view, spacious rooms, really good food

Very affordable accommodation, rooms, though just a bit too small are spacious, clean and the view is breathtaking. Dinner... they have everything! We saw fresh fish and simply every kind of Thai food you can think of. I would give them 6 stars for the food alone! Big portions, amazingly good, as they say in Thai 'sai djai'.
It's a bit of a walk to town if you're without a transportation. The view compensate that.

POOR service & room

Location: it is quite far from the Thaton village, but I knew that.
Dinner: nobody paid any attention I was siting in the restaurant and had to bring the menu myself. The staff kept staring at their mobiles. Ordering was kind of OK. The food was OK too, but ordered chicken was not chicken but definitely pork.
Room: smelly with fungus, gaps in porch doors, big ants even in bed, clean sheets
Breakfast: starts regularly 7am and confirmed last night, but 7:20 nobody present. Had to call to wake the waiter and cook up. Went to the kitchen to ask for something and the sight was not pleasant.
Hotel grounds: dirty dishes & empty bottles stored overnight around the reception

Out in the hill tea country

Stayed a night here in one of the Plantation Rooms overlooking the tea fields and which was booked by our tour guide All Thailand Experiences. Very scenic drive thru the hills to the resort.
Comfortable aircon rooms with great views over the plantation from the balcony. What i would call 3 star.
Beds were comfortable.
Considering its remoteness it is very good accommodation. Note they do have lower cost rooms which did not look as nice.
Dinner and brekky both local food and very good.
If nothing else its worth staying here for the views.

The special one An experience for me.

I'm traveler only one. Thaton Hill Resort is nearing main road and comfortable journey. You'll see the scenery around the beautiful nature and mountain backgrounds. I want to say Thanks you Khun Fah, Khun Nae and every one. they take care of me very well.

Great Resort, beautiful views

We were amazed by the kindness of the resort/manager, Khun Fa. She welcomed us as if we were VIPs. The resort has good clean rooms with a queen size bed, a sofa set, free WIFI and satellite TV. The bathroom was clean and has hot water heater for the Thailand winter. The room rate was good and came with an American breakfast which you will enjoy in the restaurant up at the top of the resort overlooking the Mae Ai plains.
The resort is built on the side of a hill and has view over the back mountains and plain of Mae Ai, which is quite stunning in the morning and evening. The gardens around the bungalows are well maintained with flowers and fruit trees.
The overall experience was very enjoyable and we will definitely return. Thank you Khun Fa for being a good host.
