The staff made our holiday

We had an amazing stay in room 4401 at Sunset Beach Resort in July. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so looked after.
Breakfast team were stars:
River at the omelette station was amazing by day 2 he already knew my order: onion, tomato, and a little cheese. I’d add my own chillies and spring onions and he’d have it ready.
Golf was constantly checking on us for coffee refills and clearing tables. He was so attentive we actually thought he was the manager!
And Min welcomed us every morning, made sure we had cutlery and coffee, then after breakfast he was our personal bartender at the pool.
Housekeeping was just as good:
The cleaning staff were amazing. Our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and a tidy kitchenette, and the aircon was on full blast — perfect for Phuket in July! A special shoutout to Zozo and the whole team. They were all so friendly and made our stay feel like home.
It’s rare to get service this consistent. The resort is beautiful, but it’s people like River, Golf, Min, Zozo and the whole team that make Sunset Beach Resort unforgettable. We’ll definitely be back!

Away from rush and peaceful

Overall the experience was good. Hotel was away from Patong Main Street and Bangla road. The street is very crowded with vehicles and it take 30 minutes by car. By walking it hardly takes 20 minutes to Patong road.
Breakfast buffet has good options but all three days the buffet menu remained same and it didn’t changed much. All 3 days same 3 fruits were served - Pineapple, watermelon and papaya.
Juices options were orange guava and pineapple.
I loved the pool as it had different kids pool, adult pool and also a pool with jacuzzi.
Only this is that adult pool was very deep , i never experienced the same.
The in room dinning should also have some more vegetarian option.
There was an Indian restaurant very near the hotel - Amritsr which served yummy food. Aloo pyaaz kulcha was even better than in India.
The beach was right in front of the hotel and hardly takes 2 mins to see sunset.
I recommend this hotel to people who want a peaceful place away from the rush and traffic.

very bad

Terrible rest. It's dirty in the room, the rooms are old, the smell is stale, there are huge spiders in the bathroom all the time. Rubbish under the windows, the expressway is like windows, the beach is 15 minutes away, the road is almost impossible to cross. The grounds as such - the hotel does not have, on one side thickets, on the other side garbage, and a swimming pool (the pool is clean, the sunbeds are good, but the chlorine in the water is very abundant).
Breakfasts, no comment. There was nothing to eat.
This hotel, I don't think it has a star at all.
The rest was badly ruined.
I had to go on tours all the time, it was impossible to be in the room.

Disappointing Hotel

Stayed from 27th December to 1st January.
Very expensive for what we got but realise time of year played a part.
Stayed in first block. Room tired looking and given a room at back. Staff English not good despite being helpful. Maybe back block which I had based my selection on may be newer and felt deflated with what we got checking in
Toilet seat in room had brown tinge to it at back and needs replacing. Kept clean but forgot towels on a few occasions.
Was asked if I wanted to cancel my cab despite never booking one as had my cousins car with us.
New year closed bar at 11. Lots of people had returned to watch fireworks at 12 from distance. No provision made as they had an expensive gala at their other hotel. Would have been nice to have paid for a couple of bar staff to cater for those who came back.
It says 15 min walk to town but it’s not and need to pick up shuttle that is a bit random to get there. Probably 45 min walk to get to town - this has its good side as you are away from madness. (But has to be experienced).
Overall very underwhelmed with the Sunset Beach Resort.
