I booked this accommodation in May for an eight-night stay in July. We booked months in advance because accommodation on Koh Tao is limited, and we wanted to secure a good place at a reasonable price before everything became much more expensive.
Just two weeks before our arrival, the property unilaterally cancelled our reservation without any prior warning or consultation. After contacting Agoda, they confirmed that the cancellation was initiated by the property owner.
When I asked the owner for an explanation, I was simply told that there had been a pricing mistake and that I should deal with Agoda instead. No apology, no attempt to find a solution, and no concern about the fact that we were left without accommodation just days before arriving in Koh Tao.
As a result, we now have to search for a new place at the last minute, when prices are much higher and availability is very limited.
This has been an extremely disappointing experience and, in my opinion, completely unprofessional. I would strongly advise other travellers to think twice before booking here if they expect the property to honour confirmed reservations.
