The Grand Brmeach Resort Koh Tao

1st time to kob tao & it didn't dissapoint. You access through a small alley and are meet with a view of blue sea and white powder sand, the hotel reception is on the left, met with a lovely helpful gentleman. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel room was on 1st floor with a lovely sea view. Room was lovely and bed comfortable with a quilt. Freshly made up every day with replacement towels, water and toilet roll. Shower basic, warm and good, shampoo & body wash provided. My brother &wife had a blocked toilet but it was sorted. Kettle and hairdryer. Small tea cups provided. Laundry on site, at time 80 battery per kilo and returned quickly. Free Wi-Fi. There is an adjacent bar called the smoking dead, nice Oz owner, lots of bars and beach restaurants. Perfect area for the sunset. We are a couple in our 60's and it is a backpacker place but we liked the local bars and the beach was chilled and loads of places to sit comfortable bean bags. We were here for 6 nights and not disturbed by the bar. To us most places were busy further down the beach later on. We loved this area and you can walk right to the pier on the beach walkway with a nice atmosphere. The Grand Resort was great value for money, £36 per night which was it delivered everything.

It is a rip off!!!

The rooms were ok, the service at the restaurant was very slow and expensive. And now 2 weeks later they are double billing me and you cannot get ahold of anyone to help you. Terrible service, I will never go back!!! The traffic is terrible other than that it is a beautiful city. Stay somewhere else.

Run away !! (and pay attention to the dates of the reviews, nothing recent, and for good reason!!

Strangely, we can't find any recent reviews, and for good reason, what a deception!! Bedroom in the DRC, obligation to live without ventilation because overlooking the path where there is only work or deposits, poorly maintained, damp bedroom with plenty of mold in the bathroom, nothing to dry anything, no restaurant despite the old photos, a "surprising" welcome... is this post-Covid? in any case it is very largely overrated and not updated... move on, unless what is described above suits you... a totally unusual Q-P report for Thailand, too bad the platforms do not update so as not to contribute to these deceptions!!

Adorable and perfect location

The hotel is perfect location for the main area of Koh Tao. Situated on the beach front surrounded by bars, shops and restaurants.
The hotel is clean, not luxurious but is what you expect for the affordable price.
The bathroom isn’t modern but fine enough.
The reception staff are lovely and very helpful.

Affordable and okay

Nice average rooms. They are Nice and clean, AC works perfectly. The bathrooms are by no means luxurious but Nice enough. Very affordable and right by the Beach.
Do notice that the hotel is located right next to a bar Which plays quite Loud Music (we had the room closest to the Beach and the bar) AND a scooter “parking lot” so bringing earplugs is a good idea. Also the guests during our stay were mostly Young people who Came Home very drunk and noisy in the middle of the night (but that’s not exactly the hotel’s fault….) Would probably find another hotel next time tho….
