Luxury hotel at affordable price
Beautiful escape in the bustling city of Dili. The beds are incredibly comfy and rooms are spacious and rooms have great view of the pool. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful and always willing to assist. Very peaceful and quiet hotel, almost like being in another world. Breakfast was also delicious.

Great hotel but dissapointing facilities
While I appreciated the lovely spacious room with its Balinese design and great views, I found the overall offering quite expensive for what was provided and has to offer. The hotel is situated 25 minutes from the airport, and while there are a few beachfront restaurants nearby, the dining options at the hotel were limited and pricey.
I was disappointed to find only two restaurants available, with a restricted menu and no buffet breakfast option. Instead, only an à la carte menu featuring simple dishes. For the price paid, there should be a more diverse range of dining options.
On a positive note, I must commend each and every staff for their exceptional service. They were all incredibly helpful and warm, which certainly enhanced our stay.
If only those minor little hiccups can be addressed, surely is one of the best place to stay and to experience a quality good holiday.

Great location, hotel ssytems need review.
We stayed in several hotels in Dili over a week, JL World was the most expensive by a fair margin. The hotel is relatively new and in a great location close to the Christo Rei monument.
As usual the staff were very helpful and polite but unfortunately there's a few problems with their systems.
We arrived before check-in time at every hotel on our trip and JL World was the only one to charge us a fee to check in early.
We weren't advised that part of the hotel is still under construction and works occurred during the day right outide our room's balcony. This wasn't a huge issue but it would have been nice to have been advised before hand.
The on site restaurant sells western style food and the quality and quantity was quite good. Unfortunately they will not sell wine by the glass and wanted to charge a corkage fee of USD $25 to BYO which is completely ridiculous, consequently I chose to only drink water with my meal. This made our meal experience altogethor less enjoyable.
In comparison to other parts of SE Asia with comparable infrastructure, Timor Leste accomodation is relatively expensive and that would have to change before we would revisit

A major disappointment — not the 4-star stay I expected
I booked JL World Hotel Cristo Rei for a short visit to Dili and left extremely disappointed. Based on the price and 4-star positioning, I expected a comfortable hotel with decent service and dining options. Unfortunately, the overall experience felt very basic and far below that standard.
The positive points are the beachfront location, the pleasant pool, the newer rooms, and the friendly staff. The beach view is genuinely lovely, and the staff tried to be helpful.
However, the food experience was one of the biggest disappointments. Breakfast was not a buffet and offered almost no choice: one simple plate such as nasi goreng or mie goreng, plus one bottled drink. There was no fresh juice, no variety, and nothing that felt like a proper hotel breakfast.
Dinner was even more frustrating. Although there are two restaurants, most items on the menu were unavailable. At around 7 pm, the only realistic choices were fried rice or pizza. The food was expensive for what was offered and, in my experience, lacked quality and flavour.
The hotel is also quite isolated. There are hardly any nearby restaurants or shops within walking distance, so guests can feel trapped with the hotel’s limited menu. For a short stay, this became very inconvenient.
Overall, the pool, beach, rooms, and staff are good, but they do not make up for the poor dining options and lack of value. I would strongly advise travellers not to book this hotel expecting a true 4-star experience.
