A very disappointing experience, very far from the standard expected of a five-star hotel.
️ Dining
The service at the restaurant leaves much to be desired. The organization is very inadequate and the staff seems to lack training and coordination. The basic principle of "first come, first served" is not respected and dishes are served in a very staggered manner. When there are several people at a table, some guests start eating while others are still waiting for their meal, which makes a real meal taken together impossible.
Appetizers, especially cocktails, were also served to us at the same time as the meal, which shows an obvious lack of synchronization.
At breakfast, while we wanted to pay for our consumption immediately by credit card, we were directed to charge it to the room number. Once it was written on the receipt, the restaurant manager told us that it was now too late to pay by card. A situation that is surprising, to say the least, when the guest should be able to freely choose their payment method.
♂️ Pool service
The pool service was also very disappointing. We regularly felt like we were bothering the servers, and we sensed a difference in treatment between our group and certain other guests.
Service times were particularly long and order errors were very frequent: a Coke Zero ordered and replaced by a regular Coke, a drink requested with grenadine served without grenadine, etc.
Drinks were often served without ice, despite temperatures exceeding 40 °C. We therefore had to systematically ask for an ice bucket to be able to keep them cold.
Cut fruit could arrive half an hour, three-quarters of an hour, or sometimes even an hour after ordering. Eventually, it became so frustrating that we sometimes simply gave up on ordering.
The cleanliness of the areas around the pool was also insufficient. The small tables provided were not properly cleaned and some remained dirty during our stay.
Furthermore, the music was often much too loud, including in the morning, which does not correspond to the atmosphere of calm and relaxation that one normally expects by the pool of a five-star hotel.
⭐ Repeated solicitations regarding customer reviews
We were also surprised by the fact that several employees directly solicited us to give them a good rating and to mention their first name in our online review.
One employee, whose first name seems to me to be Mouna or Monia, notably asked us if we could mention her name in our comment. She was, moreover, not the only one to make this type of request to us.
This practice puts the guest in a particularly uncomfortable situation. A review should normally reflect the overall experience lived in the establishment freely and sincerely, and not be influenced by repeated requests for good ratings or nominative mentions.
️ Room maintenance and equipment
Room maintenance was also very disappointing.
There were three of us in the room and, upon our arrival, only two towels were available. This situation repeated itself for several days: towels and bathrobes were regularly missing, and we systematically had to request what was needed from the hotel.
Even more surprising, the towels were very worn, gray, and seemed to have far exceeded their normal lifespan for a five-star establishment. Their condition and smell did not give the impression of freshly maintained and properly renewed linens. The bed linens also seemed very worn to us and did not give off that sensation of freshness and cleanliness that one has the right to expect in a hotel of this category.
The room floor was not properly cleaned and dust was visible in several places.
We also had doubts regarding the changing of the bed linens. One day, the duvet was even put back on inside out, with the opening positioned toward the top instead of being toward the bottom.
The most concerning point, however, involved the toilet, where we noticed the presence of persistent stains of an unknown nature. These marks seemed to have already been embedded in the floor covering even before our arrival, which raises serious questions regarding the level of cleaning and inspection of the room before guests check in.
An ambient scent that was much too strong
Finally, a particularly strong room fragrance was present throughout the hotel. The smell was so pronounced that it became oppressive and was truly overpowering.
The goal may have been to provide a pleasant olfactory ambiance, but the result was quite the opposite: this smell was omnipresent and very difficult to bear. One of my sisters even felt nauseous because the fragrance was so intense.
A room fragrance can be pleasant when it is discreet and subtle. Here, its intensity was excessive and made the hotel's atmosphere particularly uncomfortable.
❗ Conclusion
All of these problems — lack of coordination, slow service, repeated errors, quality of the welcome, insufficient cleanliness, lack of towels and bathrobes, very worn linens, insufficient room maintenance, and an excessively strong olfactory ambiance — are particularly disappointing for an establishment that claims to be a five-star hotel.
We expected professional, attentive, and impeccable service. Unfortunately, our stay was marked by an accumulation of malfunctions that significantly harmed our experience.
A hotel of this caliber must live up to its image and its standards. Unfortunately, the Sheraton Tunis is very far from the level of service and quality that one has the right to expect from a five-star establishment.

What a disappointment…
As a reminder, this is an establishment that presents itself as a 5-star hotel. We were therefore entitled to expect a level of service corresponding to this standing.
1. Arrival
There is no welcome outside the hotel. We therefore had to carry our suitcases to the reception ourselves.
2. The room
Upon our arrival, several problems were already present:
* no bath mat;
* the television did not work;
* the refrigerator was dirty and difficult to open;
* the floor and the mirror were not clean.
Wishing to give the staff a chance, we only requested assistance for the television.
3. The pool
Every day, the same problem: there were not enough towels for the number of lounge chairs. Whether we arrived among the first or later in the day, the situation remained the same.
4. Meals and drinks at the pool
The pool bar staff were, on the whole, unfriendly.
Ordering a meal was almost like playing Russian roulette:
* Who will actually receive the ordered dish?
* Who will get their drink?
* Which dish will simply be forgotten?
On the other hand, when it came time to pay the bill, all the dishes and all the drinks were indeed on the tab... including those that had never been served to us.
That was when an interminable discussion began. Dishes and drinks arrived in a disorganized manner, sometimes with more than an hour between two dishes at the same table. Despite this, the staff insisted that everything had been served properly and sometimes ended up getting annoyed.
Fortunately, we know how to assert our rights when we are certain we are right. But this situation became so exhausting that we finally gave up on having lunch by the pool.
5. Meals at the hotel
Breakfast
During our first breakfast, a manager came to ask us to pay a bill even though our stay had already been paid for upon our arrival. Despite several explanations, we had to insist before he finally took the time to check. A particularly unpleasant attitude.
The latter initially refused to let our cousin pay her bill because she had already signed the bill, even though she had asked before signing if it was possible to pay directly, but the server did not follow up, and neither did the manager. In the end, without knowing why, the manager came back anyway with the card terminal so she could pay. However, throughout the entire conversation, the manager was awful!
On the other hand, we would like to warmly thank Fathia, who showed great kindness, exemplary professionalism, and genuine attention toward the guests. Thank you, Ma'am. Your sense of service deserves to be highlighted, and some of your superiors would benefit from taking inspiration from it.
Lunch and dinner meals
We also ate several times at the hotel restaurants. While the food was of better quality, the service unfortunately remained very hit-or-miss.
The servers rarely took orders in writing, which regularly led to errors. It is regrettable to have to repeat one's order several times or ask for things that are nonetheless basic.
6. Hair and makeup
Out of respect for the people involved, I will not post photos of the hair and makeup done for our cousins. A piece of advice: keep moving.
7. Massages
We had booked several massages. Mine unfortunately did not convince me, but my relatives, for their part, really enjoyed their experience. It is also important to highlight the positive points.
8. Pool safety
A big thank you to Med Hosni (5541), in charge of pool safety, who was always smiling, welcoming, and very kind. His professionalism deserves to be commended.
9. Maintenance
Thanks also to the maintenance technician, who intervened quickly, efficiently, and with great kindness.
10. The front desk
Nothing to complain about regarding the welcome at the reception: the staff was always pleasant and professional.
11. The Business Center
The Business Center teams were attentive, smiling, helpful, and particularly welcoming. A big thank you to them.
In conclusion, our expectations were not excessive, however. We simply wished to benefit from the level of service that one has the right to expect in an establishment that claims a 5-star rating.
Unfortunately, despite a few remarkable staff members, the service as a whole was not up to par.
