Lovely Staff, but very poorly maintained.
At first glance, room seemed ok with a l8vely view from the sea facing balcony. However soon discovered many issues.
Bathroom seemed clean and well appointed, but couldn't get hot water from sink or shower which bith ran blood warm even after 20 minutes. The shower ceiling panels fell on my head whilst showering and I had to reset them. The lift up toilet flush was not secured due to a missing lock nut. The shower stall, although functional, had a missing bolt on the shower screeb handle, and much evidence of rushed 2-bob ongoing repairs to seakants and door frame.
Bedroom was big enough with very firm twin beds which suits me but may not be everybody's cup of tea. The wardrobe unit, set into the wall, was coming adrift from its fixings. The aircon/heater worked well, but the bakciny door couldn't be locked which left the room exposed to being burgled from neighbouring balconies, although thete is a room safe, not secured to anything, inside the wardribe for which you need a key from receotion requiring a £10 deposit.
Pool area and bar, and restaurant, all very nice, akthough I got charged nearky 5 quid for a fanta lemon, so be warned on that front.
Overall, this was clearly once a nice hotel, but now is VERY shabby in all but the publuc aread to judge by comments from other guests. Not crap, but £88.00 per night is about 20% overpriced for what it is.
Oh, by the way, aircraft are flying in off the sea at l9w altitude straight over the hotel pretty much round the clock, you get used to it, but be aware.

An awful place
Authorities told us they couldn’t process a refund because they “received the payment through the agency.” However, they provided a signed certificate to refund the refund. However, no payouts have been made to date.
We had an extremely bad experience with both hygiene and customer rights. We were also disappointed that the issue was not resolved. I recommend Recommendations for those considering Reservations.

Do not go here. Mainly used by dental visitors but look for better.
Breakfast ok but basic, lots cats in dining room begging for food, chairs covered in cat hair. General cat wee smell everywhere.
Pool area more positive with lovely view and comfortable sun beds but again cats sleep on them.
Food in restaurant next door, very expensive for food and drinks. Beach not accessible as walkway collapsed.
Positives.
If you still go try two dining options.
Out hotel ,turn left, first right ,first left to bar called Platform. Did not look much from road but had several eating areas like street food under one roof. Staff lovely, good music and food. Highly recommend.
Another was out hotel turn right as far as can go to roundabout, cross over with care to a restaurant called Des Vu. Great friendly owners , touch more expensive.
Get cab to the Old Town, ask taxi for The Gates. Cobbled streets, eatery’s, lovely setting.

Poor Hotel
The rooms feel quite outdated, and several basic facilities were in poor condition. In our case, parts of the toilet were broken, including the showerhead and the toilet tank, which made everyday use inconvenient and frustrating.
Breakfast was another disappointment. The selection is very limited, and there are no suitable options for people who are lactose intolerant. To make matters worse, the juice machine is often turned off with no alternative provided, and the coffee quality is poor. Overall, the food variety is minimal and lacks flexibility for different dietary needs.
One unusual aspect of the hotel is the number of cats around the property. While it’s generally lovely to see them, it becomes less appealing when they are near dining areas—especially considering guests are paying for meals. We also observed staff taking food from the breakfast hall to feed the cats, which felt inappropriate.
The pool and restaurant area often have music playing, which can create a nice atmosphere during the day. However, if your room is located near one of the speakers, it can seriously disrupt your rest. The music starts early, around 8 AM, and continues until midnight, making it difficult to relax or sleep.
The hotel is attached to La’Vera restaurant, which is where breakfast is served. While the food there can be decent, it is quite expensive for what you get. For example, two pasta dishes, two cokes, and one dessert came to £55, which feels overpriced.
Overall, despite the appealing views that might attract guests in the first place, I would not recommend staying at this hotel due to the numerous issues with facilities, food quality, and overall comfort.
