I had a pleasant stay at Four Sides Beyoglu. The staff were very kind, accommodating, and helpful throughout my visit. The room was comfortable and the location was convenient. One small area for improvement would be housekeeping, as the bed linens could be cleaned better in the future.

Expectations have not lived up to reality

Disappointment.
One plus is a place in an alley off Istiqlal Street.
Cons. A school is nearby. In the morning, the rise from a piano playing tune to a loudspeaker all over the street wakes at 7 a.m., sleeping is not realistic. There's a lot of noise - kids playing football, in the morning the ball flew into the dining room through an open canopy, bouncing around coffee and omelet tables. Well, that's not on the head, but nearby;) The canopy then closed :)
The numbers are tiny. When he checked in and went into the shower, black long hair was everywhere: on the sink, on the toilet, in the shower. It's like they didn't clean before they rented out the room. The toilet lid has stains from previous residents. It got ugly.
The towels are old and synthetic, it's impossible to wipe yourself clean, went to buy himself a proper towel at the store.
A broken mirror with an oddly crafted socket in it. Afraid to touch it, not even to use it.
Trash on the left in front of the entrance, swamped.
The staff is rough. A buddy came by tonight, wanted to sit down, chat. They didn't let me in because they had reservations for one. Guests are not allowed, only book for two if. Delusional. They also rude us. I highly recommend against the hotel. 4 days of stress. I'm definitely never coming here again.

new small hotel

new or newly renovated small hotel with only a few rooms. The location is in a good neighborhood with lots of shopping and celebration possibilities, but on the mountain, from the historic district so always on foot a climb and about 45-60 min walk. Room sufficiently large and with small balcony. Breakfast is also decent, no buffet but there are many plates put at the table with dips, sucuk etc.
Despite being located in a very small side alley, in the morning many cars and trucks drive through which have to maneuver with beeps on the corner. You can hear them through the windows. Price/performance as a starting point for an urban exploration but top.

Room is very tight as is bathroom so pack light. Breakfast lovely. Good walking distance to Taksim.
