Great little spot

This hotel has everything you want from a stay in Mardin but at a lower price point. It’s an old traditional stone house in a great location and the staff are lovely. We stayed in a stone room with a private bathroom. Kahvaltı (breakfast) was the standard with a great view in the terrace. Recommend.

Good area. The bathroom needs a thorough clean and a bedside lamp would make the stay more comfortable.

Stay away!

Stay away! This hotel must have changed hands since any good reviews. It needs to be taken completely off your list.
Thick with cigarette smoke as soon as you walk in, chronically dusty and mouldy and extremely cold. When you turn over in bed you get a puff of old dusty smoke from y to be pillow. I didn’t even want to leave my bags in this place.
I’ve never experienced such a disconnect between the hotel website and reality. I checked multiple times if I was in the right place. I’ve actually become sick with a head hold since staying there.
Just to top it off the manager on reception was really rude. Maybe it’s been a long cold winter for these guys, but that’s no reason to give them another chance.
I have been living in Turkey for over a year and have rarely been disappointed with the famous hospitality until now. This is the first time I’ve been unlucky.
Seriously, I really want to make sure no one else books this place until it cleans up its act. There are many great hotels in Mardin, Kadim Otel is no longer one of them. Sorry!
