Uganda you never imagined

I am an italian Guide, expert to recognize places worth going to
Rubuguri Community home offered us an unexpected welcome with kindness and delicious food (fresh fruits very morning, rise, vegetable and meat), and great rooms with amazing view.
Good position in the nature, very quite and very close to Gorilla’s Bwindi Forest and to Batwa, unbelievable pygmies people who are living sharing the area with Gorilla. Batwa Old man teach us how to light a fire with 2 wooden sticks. We bought 25kg of maize flour for the Batwa, and they shared it as a great community.
Easy to reach from bus station in Kisoro (13h from Kampala) – Bruno Happy, the owner of the community, will organize a taxi for the last 20km, completely off-road
Adventure hikings on easy a/o challenge itinerary will be organized by Gilbert, very expert local guide, in collaboration with Bruno.
Bruno Happy uses a part of money paid by the client to help and support children with school fees and buying shoes. They created an open outdoor school working on saturday.
We did tailor lessons to learn how to create straw basket, and to support the local women.
Please come here and help the Community home to grow up (bring pens, and old shoes)
Bruno Happy home will help you to organize your Uganda holidays in every detail

Bwindi paradise

Our stay at Ruguburi Community Home was absolutely amazing. Bruno is incredibly kind and welcoming, and he made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay.
The wooden house is very comfortable and offers a stunning view. The restaurant, which is part of the community home and located in a nearby building, was also excellent and very convenient. It truly felt like everything we could dream of—far from the usual super touristic experience and instead a very authentic and meaningful place.
We also had the opportunity to go gorilla trekking and to meet the Batwa Indigenous people in a genuine and respectful way. This was without a doubt the highlight of our entire trip to Uganda. We also met members of the local community and took part in the handcraft project, which made the experience even more special.
Amazing place, amazing people, and unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!

Peaceful eco-lodge near Bwindi Forest.

Nice and quiet stay had in the eco-lodge. The host Happy Bruno can help book all kinds of activities such as Gorilla Trekking or Game Drive. Ben the cook is a winner, the food is tasty and there is fresh fruit every day.

Wonderful Bwindi!

My wife and I came from Sweden for vacation and stayed at Bruno’s home for a couple of wonderful days. That was before he had totally finalized his beautiful homestay lodge and restaurant. Bruno and his wife Gloria are the best hosts you can imagine. They do everything to make you feel welcome and make your total experience excellent. Bruno arranged the permits for the gorilla trek and arranged several tours in the area (a schools visit, a boat trip on lake Mutanda, a walk with the Batwa tribe and a visit at the Rushaga Community Building). This was our second trip to the Rubuguli/Rushaga area and with this wonderful experience we are quite certain that we will be back again some day.
In addition to getting a wonderful and genuin experience of the local community you support a local entrepreneur who does a lot of good things to help develop the community.

A lodge on a hill.

The best part of this place is that the rooms are localed on a hill overlooking the Virunga volcano range, si the views are spectacular. The staff is very friendly and the cook, James, is great and very attentive.
Very good value for the price in that area.
