Great Place in city center.
If you need to stay in the center this is the best option for you. Great place. I would definitely recommend to stay in this hostel if you are visiting Lviv.

Avoid
Horrendous experience! Avoid!
Turned up to find they cancelled my reservation leaving a solo female traveller vulnerable, no where to stay. Claimed there was no communication with me even though I have shown Sent emails. Self-important receptionist, rude, no apology nor solution offered

Avoid if you want rest!
First of all.... this place is offered as a Hotel not a Hostel. However, it is run like a Hostel.

Livid is an amazing place! If you’re on the fence about visiting, GO FOR IT!! However, I would highly recommend not staying at this hotel. The rooms are decent, price is good, and it is a great location, but the management is very sub par.
We booked a room on the 3rd floor. All was good until the people in the next room moved in. They were very loud. After listening to them getting drunk and carrying on for hours, I decided to call the front desk. The desk clerk came upstairs and made an attempt to quiet them down. They disregarded his request and continued their drunken party. An hour later, I called back and the desk clerk didn’t answer. Neither my girlfriend nor I was able to get much sleep.
The next morning, I decided to book the final 2 nights of our vacation at a different hotel. I went to the front desk and informed him of the plans and he said nothing. No facial expression change, no sign of remorse.... he didn’t care at all. I asked that the remaining 2 nights be refunded. The front desk clerk rudely replied “No. No refund. You don’t like? You can leave.
Due to the fact that I had to pay in full in cash upfront, I didn’t really have a leg to stand on. I figured maybe there was a language barrier misunderstanding, so I had my girlfriend explain the situation again. The desk clerk cut her off mid sentence and said “I understand what you said and I don’t care! No refund means no refund!”
I gave him one last chance to remedy the situation informing him that a negative review would be left, and he replied “I don’t care. Leave your review.”
So the purpose of this review is to inform others about this place. If you are looking to party and be loud till 3:30 AM without consequence, then this is the place for you. If you want to rest at night or have little kiddos, I would avoid this place at all costs.

3 days in Lviv,great place for a short break.
£70 flight from Luton with wizz air. 2 night stay at hostel sun for £28. Great value location. Food and drink places plentiful and great value. Sun hostel basic but private en-suite and comfortable bed, room warm. Staff friendly and helpful. The hostel is located in the centre of Lviv and walking distance from most attractions and pubs/ restaurants. Lviv is a surprise, check out the restaurant built in the old town Arsenal,it serves bbq ribs and surprisingly called rib Arsenal. Definitely worth 3 days for a break.

Worst experince, very expensive for nothing
Very expensive for very poor conditions. We payed about $50 for one night at almost the worst place we ever stayed at. Please read below.
1. Very unpleasant staff. Right after we booked it here, on booking, we needed to contact property regarding payment - noone picked up the phone. I called several times and only after maybe my 10th call a guy called me back. Poor customer service.
2. When you get to the building, you cannot just enter the hostel, you will need to call them in order to get in, and there is a chance that noone will pick up the phone again and noone will be at the reception. This fortunately did not happen to us, but when we checked out, there was nobody at the desk.
3. There is a game room on their photos here, on Booking, but when we entered the hostel, we were literally shocked - there were building materials everywhere, some mattresses, everything was covered in plastic tape.
4. We needed to leave our bags somewhere and we were offered to leave them in some room where there were also building materials everywhere, it was not clean.
5. The ceiling in our room was very law. I will attach photo of me standing in the room and you will see how hight it was. I am 168 cm high.
6. "Bathroom" was extremely small (see photo, I wear size US8, EUR 38) - if you are a bit higher than average, you will not be able to take shower without bending down. There was no place in the "bathroom" where it would be possible to put your shampoo and other staff. No carpets in the there, the floor will be covered with water no matter how accurately you will try to take a shower.
7. There is no sink in the "bathroom", it actually is right in the living room at the entrance door.
8. No carpets in the room and the floor was cold.
I don't know if they have better rooms, but ours was very-very bad. It was very uncomfortable to stay there for one night, I cannot imagine how we would feel if we stayed there longer.
However, the room was clean, the bed was good, although it was a little bit cold in the room. If you still consider this hostel as the place for your vacation, I guess you could call the property first and ask them to send photos of your room, perhaps they have some better options.
