Nice weekend, but a few pointers

We visited last weekend for a 2 night Groupon stay. We had a good weekend, but my overview is a score of 3.5 - I've rounded up as we had a nice weekend.
The main building needs a touch up, but inside is lovely. The 'Garden' building we were staying in - well whoever commissioned that needs their head looked at, it's not in keeping and when you walk up to it, it's reminiscent of a jail building! The rooms inside were perfectly pleasant, just a shame the outside was so unappealing. Our view also lacked massively as a view of the car park. There is no air con (as seems to be quite standard with UK hotels), although there was a fan in the room.
The leisure facilities were lovely, with working (small) sauna and steam rooms. Jacuzzi was lovely. Lockers were a waste of time, my advise is just to leave valuables in your room.
We found generally the staff, although pleasant, were not overly knowledgeable, and twice we were incorrectly charged for our drinks.
The dinner in the restaurant was perfectly ok and there is a nice pub just on the edge of the hotel too.
There were mugs and glasses not tidied from the garden areas for over 24 hours.
It happened to be the England World cup match during our visit and it's not really set up for that, we aren't too fussed about the bar atmosphere, just wanted to watch together on a decent screen, but the 2 decent size TV's outside of the bar area (1 in next room and 1 in coffee room) didn't work - a member of staff didn't even know there was one in the coffee room!
Basically a nice weekend, but bits that needed improving, I just didn't feel special staying here.

We stayed 2 nights RO. Room was convenient, exceptionally clean and comfortable. FYI If you want your room serviced during your stay you have to hang the tag on the door. Unfortunately we found this out too late so had to organise extra coffee etc via Reception and the rations provided are meagre to say the least. They also charge £5 for anything ordered from the Room Service menu if you want it delivered to your room!

I have discovered after the stay that I have been charged for another guest dinner. Never in my life anything like that happen to me. Also I have left by accident my property in the room, staff confirm that it was found, but days later when I came to collect it it was missing ! Seriously what is going on? Would not recommend this hotel based on experience after the stay. Too much issues still not resolved and no communication from the hotel
