Excellent food and staff were lovely

Booked for birthday meal, four of us, lovely decor, food excellent and staff lovely - attentive without being intrusive or annoying. A little off the beaten track, but definitely worth a visit if out this way,

5 Starred accommodation with good food and service

We stayed at the White Swan Inn in Belford for 3 nights in April for our holiday in Northumberland.
The Inn is easy to find just off the A1 and within commuting distance to Berwick, Bamburgh and Alnwick.
We stayed in Room 1, ground floor which is spacious, cleaned and equipped with all the essentials you would need in a room. Plenty of beverages sachets provided, and even a coffee machine.
Fresh milk and water is provided daily, and each day, we are surprised with a nice treat of cakes and sloe gin in our room! . Nice touches.
Bar is busy with both locals and guests, some 4 legged! .
We dined in the restaurant throughout our stay because the food was so nice, varied choices. And the restaurant is packed each night!
Breakfast is brilliant with many choices.
Staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful and courteous. Always on hand to help with any query.
We had enjoyed our stay at the White Swan Inn and hope to return there in the future.
Excellent accommodation, food and service. What more would you want?

Excellent Visit

We visited The White Swan at Waterford in Feb 2025 for the weekend. The overall experience was excellent. The food was exceptional, the accommodation as described. I would highly recommend this place and will be visiting again in the near future.

Lodge Stay

Stayed in the lodge behind the hotel and it was perfect for us as a couple with our furry friend. Little garden next to field with sheep who our dog was desperate to say hello to, crying at the fence to see them until they eventually came over and headbutted him haha. Private enough to sit out in the garden and use the fabulous hot tub, something we were not too bothered about previously but enjoyed using it after a day walking in the sun, bathrobes were supplied to save using all the towels.
Everything needed was supplied and the living room/kitchen was modern and well equipped, nice chunk of cake on arrival too.
Comfy kingsize bed and overall the lodge was clean and modern.
Super handy with the pub doing delicious freshly cooked meals I advise booking as it is always busy even on a Monday/Tuesday and you need to eat in the bar if bringing a dog. We opted for breakfast on our package and I initially thought it was quite expensive but it was excellent, definitely freshly cooked and I had pancakes twice which were freshly cooked and served with proper fresh fruit.
Would definitely come back, only tiny suggestion I can make is a little outdoor rack to hang your swimwear after the Jacuzzi.

Bad managment

Had a room booked for 1 night. Also booked to see Xmas tree at cragside. We had to cancel at short notice due to inclement weather. Even cragside was closed. We were not allowed to rebook a new date.no refund . shocking. Won't eat there again.
