I would stay again !

We stayed here for two nights over the weekend and overall had a solid experience, though there are a few areas where some attention would make a big difference.
First impressions matter, and this is really the main area where the hotel could improve. Approaching from the Coleraine side, when turning off the road and driving into the hotel, the view is dominated by a large end wall that appears stained and not recently painted. Unfortunately, there was also some rubbish visible in a flower bed beneath it. I’ll admit my heart sank slightly at that point.
However, once inside the hotel, that feeling changed completely. The interior is beautiful — immaculately clean, well maintained, and tastefully decorated with an old‑world, stately feel. Public areas really are lovely and clearly well cared for.
Check‑in and check‑out were an absolute doddle: super quick, simple, and fuss‑free. One real standout during our stay was the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The breakfast team were excellent, particularly a young lady named (I think) Mandy, who was friendly and attentive, checked in on us without hovering, and made breakfast a pleasant experience. Our breakfast order was slightly muddled, but it was resolved within two minutes — no fuss, no hassle, which was appreciated.
Our room had one double bed and one single, which suited our needs. That said, the room itself did feel a little dated, particularly the bathroom, which could really benefit from a refresh. I’m quite detail‑oriented and noticed some shreds of toilet roll under the radiator and a small piece of plastic on the floor. Nothing major, but details like that do stand out. Overall though, the room was functional and did the job for a short stay.
Would I stay here again? Yes.
Would I choose it for a romantic weekend away with my wife? Probably not.
Would I use it as a base for a family stay in the area? Yes — though I might compare with a few other local options first.
The hotel is very well positioned, and the surrounding area is beautiful and picturesque, which adds a lot to the overall appeal.
Overall: a solid option with fantastic staff and great public spaces, let down slightly by external presentation and some tired elements in the rooms. With a little work, this could be a really strong offering.

Gem of a place.

Came here for one night with the Caledonian Tour. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms and beds were to a high standard. Food was amazing. Staff couldn’t have been any nicer or more helpful. Genuinely a gem of a place. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Best hotel around. Staff are amazing.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, highly recommended a visit. The beauty salon on site it’s beautiful, it’s a lovely quiet place to have a treatment and relax, the bar is big and open. They offer a free Continental breakfast or a full fry for £5. The staff are amazing, housekeeping are brilliant. There are four main people I wish to talk about. Bethany, her customer service skills are absolutely phenomenal. Genevieve Is brilliant, nothing is too much trouble.
Jim and Maried are the owners and they give you such a warm welcome it’s like being welcomed into the family. Definitely get a book in here highly recommended and also check out for weddings as it is a phenomenal place to have a wedding.
