Superb third visit

Superb third visit. Nice, well appointed rooms with some particularly suitable for dog owners as they have their own direct access to the car park. The staff were without exception very friendly and helpful. Good choice of dishes at breakfast and dinner with standard staples and some interesting specials- Sea bass with chickpea ratatouille, and Chicken supreme with mushrooms and truffled mash stood out.
And very well situated for walks with local route leaflets provided.

Waited an hour for food

Waited over an hour for our food which looked like it had been sat under a hot lamp. Didn’t get an apology for the wait.

Lovely place - couple of suggested improvements

Enjoyed a long weekend at The Yorkshire Bridge Inn as a base to explore Castleton and surrounding areas.
The food was lovely, staff were friendly and the beds were comfortable.
I have two suggestions for improvement
1. I understand that AC in a building like this is difficult but you absolutely have to provide fans. My mum and I were in one of the top rooms and it was far too hot as it was a nice summer weekend. There are skylights that open and help but they shut automatically when it rains which it kept doing the first night so we were suffocatingly hot and hardly slept at all. We asked for a fan the following day but none was provided. I wouldn't have wanted to be in there during this heatwave we've just had
2. There is a decent amount of parking but again on a nice day with lots of pub custom there may not be parking for hotel guests depending on arrival time. They reserve dinner tables automatically for hotel guests so it would be good if they could also hold parking spots for as many rooms as are booked to ensure guests can get parked since there aren't exactly any other options if you can't

Great experience but……

Great location, food and hospitality.
Only negative is the few local men who are allowed to break the law by vaping continuously while talking about, I’m assuming other locals in a derogatory way while using language not expected in a place with a reputation like this.
Ruined the experience.

Nothing was too much trouble

Our short stay at TYB was first class. We arrived very late to find the owners waiting with a welcoming drink. The accommodation is perfect and all the meals were excellent.
Highly recommended xx
