One Night Stay

Stayed at The Berkeley Arms Hotel for one night 4th June. I was on my own as I had a works reunion. I booked a single room which was extremely comfortable with a good bathroom. A delicious breakfast the next morning followed. But what made my stay exceptional was Corrine. I asked if I could leave my suitcase whilst I walked into Old Brookend to retrieve my car. Corrine kindly offered to drive me herself, even though I'm sure she had a busy day ahead. It was just aswell as I think I had underestimated how far the walk would be!! Thank you Corrine for your kindness. I would 100% stay at The Berkeley Arms if ever I was in the area again

Below expectations for costly hotel.

Location in middle of Berkeley good for walk to castle. Check in at hotel is in bar, which noisy and busy. No offer of help with luggage etc. Room 8 very disappointing. Old orange pine type wardrobes and drawers. Wallpaper peeling on ceiling. No plug in bathroom sink or bathroom waste bin. Only 2 small shower gel bottles. Plug and 2 more gels were provided when asked. Initially we thought no hot water but staff explained tap needed to be run for some considerable time. What a waste in this day and age! The shower turned on ok but got stuck and we couldn't turn it off, especially with wet hands. I had to help my husband to turn it off and viceversa.
I asked for heating and was told if they turned on our room then whole hotel would come on. They did offer to turn on heating but we agreed for the mornings. But neither morning did heating come on. First night I slept with 2 towels and a shawl over me and socks. No information book in room apart from breakfast details and Wi-Fi. However, the Wi-Fi password was wrong but a very nice girl in the bar helped me with this and said all passwords in room needed changing. Breakfast was adequate. Fresh fruit consisted of an apple and banana, although a few grapes on 2nd morning. Tables were also sticky.
On checkout I had to hunt for a staff member. There needs to be a reception desk with a bell.
We paid £280 for 2 nights. Sorry for review but totally overpriced in our opinion and think owners need to be aware. I have informed hotel of our concerns but as yet, wait to hear from them.

A little Gem by a beautiful Castle

We visited the wonderful Berkeley Arms hotel on the 14th February with two friends for a valentine meal, the food was delicious and the staff are very good too, we have been several times now and always enjoy the service we get, the young staff are always happy to help with any questions we have, the decor with beautiful with great seating and it’s set out well with big tables and plenty of room between them. Corinne always makes time to chat to us and make sure we are happy with everything, we never feel rushed when we come here, it’s nice to relax after the meal and have a couple more drinks without having to move from the table

Amazing Christmas menu dinner

Casuals ladies Skittles’s team came to the Berkeley arms for a Christmas get together and meal . We were a group of 14 and everything about the evening was just perfect. The meals were outstanding at a time when they are catering for large numbers - the quality of every meal was excellent . The turkey on my plate was 2 thick slices of juicy turkey which tasted delicious. We all thorough enjoyed our various meals - Turkey, fish pie, lamb. Service was quick and outstanding as well to match the food. Well done Berkeley Arms

Cozy hotel, lovely, welcoming staff

Staff were so helpful and welcoming, they made the stay so comfortable. We came on a Sunday evening when the hotel pub was closed and they set us a table at the hotel so we could bring back takeout. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms were also very comfortable and clean and the location couldn’t be beat. It was a 5 minute walk to Berkeley Castle and the Jenner museum. Highly recommend!!
