This place is a joke. Booked for the 16th August 2025. Took my money immediately and when we arrived to check in we found the place closed and all locked up. Found out later from the locals that they shut over two weeks before we arrived and now fighting to get our money back from the booking agent. DO NOT MAKE ANY BOOKING at this place, as it is shit. Beware future travelers.
Also be very aware of ie.trip.com as they obviously don’t know what’s going on with their clients.

This place is shut down

We had year pre-booked 11 months ago and the place has shut down and no one bothered to tell us! They are still taking bookings, still taking payments but the doors are locked and in complete darkness! We we're stood outside and stranded

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BOOK - THEY HAVE GONE BUST!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! They have gone out of business as per another review - the property was repossessed on 29th July.
We booked using an online booking site (which are still advertising the hotel and giving you the opportunity to pay in advance) and had no reason to expect any problems.

Be Aware: Property Was Closed Despite Confirmed Booking

I booked a stay at The Mendip Inn via Hotels.com on 31st July 2025. When my wife arrived at the property, she found it closed and unattended. A letter was posted on the door (attached in the photo), stating that the operators had been evicted by the landlord on 29th July — two days before our booking was made.
We received no notice from the property, and the stay could not go ahead. This caused significant disruption.
Posting this to inform others — please double-check the status of this accommodation before booking.

I don't normally write reviews but i felt that i had no choice. Myself and my wife decided to go out for a couple of drinks and was met with a owner who hasn't got any personality or manners. The area were we were sitting was dirty which attracted the flies and wasps. Thank god we never had a meal. Please avoid.
