Pretty reasonable for a hostel

We found the hostel better than many. We had a private double room. It was fairly nice with a comfy bed with clean sheets. We also had the surprise of very large and white fluffy towels (they said they weren’t included at booking). Staff were friendly enough. The bathroom was very tired and smelt a bit musty but was fit for purpose for one night and is what it is, which is a hostel after all.
The biggest downside was, as others have said, the paper thin walls. It seemed like people were coming and going all night with all manner of noises and the fear someone was about to come through the door! Single-glazed windows also carried a lot of noise from the road outside. So we actually didn’t sleep very well so something to consider.
Communal reception/eating area was nicely down with a few bits and pieces to eat and drink (including an expensive beer after a gig!)
All in all reasonable for a short stay in a private room if you consider the relative fact of it being a hostel.

Avoid as cancelled my booking with no refund

5 weeks before our trip they said that our private room was not available anymore due to construction works and that we can either have a full refund or be moved to a dormitory. Really disappointed with this as it’s really hard to get an alternative room at different hotel on this night at this late stage however I opted for a cancellation and refund however they not issued this refund and Expedia can’t get in touch with them and so the booking is still live .
Awful company, I would not recommend to anybody.

Poor

Cancelled our booking 5 weeks before our stay as they have decided to change the room. Offered us a room a few levels lower than our booking or a bed in a shared room and not with an additional discount. Customer service team were poor and spelled my name wrong despite it being on the booking. Not a business that can be trusted.

Scam

Made an error in my booking date, called the hotel immediately to change. They told me change was fine but needed to go through Expedia. When Expedia generated the change request they cancelled my booking (which was never requested) and refused refund.

Even for the price, no

Awful experience to be honest. If I wasn't there because I had no other choice I would have complained there and then but was emotionally drained. Booked a room with shower and sink. All the walls were dirty or water stained. Shower blocked when using it. Water was cold. Room was freezing when I walked in. Bed seemed clean, only reason I stayed. I slept on top of my own towels ect just in case. Silver fish crawling around the floors. Room 209 ground floor. Needs major attention. The cafe and reception staff seem lovely though. Had to call in sick to work because I can't do my job on zero sleep. People walking the corridors seemed to sound like they were about to walk through the bedroom door. Paper thin walls.
