Short stay on Jurassic coast
Location ideal.... Walk into Charmouth or Lyme Regis.
Peaceful atmosphere... All staff we encountered were friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble.
Our room had all necessary amenities, bed comfortable.
Food excellent.
Excellent value for money overall

Good Find
Very nice hotel in quiet location but between 2 towns so nice choice of trips
A bonus is the bus stop at the entrance
Nice walks from Hotel to either town
We did found ordering food by 4 pm for dinner and breakfast ordering the night before not for us
I know why it’s done but it didn’t suit us
Room and staff were excellent and would stay again

Practically perfect in every way.....
Sometimes, by serendipity, you find a damn near perfect hotel. We’re really hoping that Fernhill doesn’t turn out to be some Brigadoon, which disappeared into the mist when we left it.
It seems to be ‘off the beaten track’, but manages to be on the bus route. Buses go from the end of the drive, on a busy road. You’d never know that, when you’re inside the hotel or at the pool, as it’s a tranquil spot. In the bar and dining room, there’s a little background music – classic 60s and 70s tracks, perfectly selected.
We loved the thoughtful protocols – no disturbing of the private oasis of your room, but a great system of putting a little box outside the door, requesting more teabags, milk [real milk, in a diddy-wee Thermos!], towels, or the fantastic, homemade biscuits……..
It’s a lovely building, and the décor is understated elegance. The shower was fantastic, the coffee ‘fair trade’, and the wine list superb. We’re not a couple that has breakfast in a hotel, most of the time – and hardly ever, dinner. We had both, for four days.
Staff are lovely – with that relaxed confidence that comes from knowing that the meals they serve are exemplary. The fresh fish on offer was cooked to perfection. We even had desserts - rarer than never, for us – but that apple cake is narcotic…………
Jo and Rob are perfect hosts, efficient, welcoming, never stuffy, always helpful.
It’s not surprising that they have lots of repeat bookings. Include us, from now, until forever…………………….

Great hotel
The hotel gave us a very warm welcome. Hotel was spotlessly clean including our room .
Whole experience was very relaxing .
Good food & drink.
The pool was an added bonus & a decent size .
Will definitely stay again . I would highly recommend.

Excellent
We only had one night here as its hard for us to get a break at the moment but it was lovely. A very peaceful hotel, nice clean room, spacious lounges and dining area. It's a short footpath walk through some woods and across the golf course to Lyme Regis and the views are stunning as you go down the hill. Great nights sleep on a comfy bed. Breakfast was very good. Excellent fruit bowl and granola - other half enjoyed a cooked breakfast. Staff all very welcoming and chilled. The much mentioned homemade biscuits in the room were tested and excellent. We had dinner in Lyme Regis this time as we were walking but will try their food next time as the menu looks good. We will definitely be going back.

We love our location - close to everything, yet tucked peacefully away so you can enjoy the coast, then return to Fernhill for relaxing peace by the pool or in the bar or Snug. We also love our food here. There's usually something to suit everyone, even if dietary considerations are required. We'll look forward to welcoming you back some time soon, perhaps for a longer stay if time allows
