We stayed at The George for one night to attend a family party. The rooms were so lovely, beautifully decorated and very clean. Bathroom was the same and our shower was amazing. There was plenty of room to park on site too. We were a little disappointed with the continental breakfast. We were hoping for fresh fruit, Greek or natural yoghurt, perhaps warm pastries. Cereal was a little limited too. I had a coffee from the perculator, which was cold. There was no way to tell how long ago it had been made. We understand why it is prepared like this but not every guest is staying with a view to catching a plane in the early hours. Thank you anyway

Warm & Welcoming

The George is a beautiful pub with attentive team members, delicious food and very comfortable rooms.
Checked in with Padraig and was made to feel at home straightaway and that feeling continued throughout my stay. The team members were warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the drinks, food and the local area. The food was delicious and good value.
There is a beautiful outdoor covered seating area with heaters which is absolutely stunning. would definitely stay here again.

Found this little gem for a one-night stopover for an early flight out of Bristol Airport (only a 15 min drive). Lovely welcome from the young lady behind the bar. Very comfy room (pudding and pie) despite no air con did have a cooling fan - ideal for the current heatwave. The food was very good but not a great selection of beers on tap. The complimentary continental breakfast was a very welcome surprise, and you simply help yourself when you are ready - ideal for those like us who need to leave early in the morning when no staff are around. Would definitely stay here again when we next fly from Bristol.

Room was quite nice and the bed was large and comfortable, but couldn't open the broken blind at the window so no daylight.
The breakfast situation was poorly explained and we didn't bother cooking ourselves toast which is all that was left at 9am.
Things did not go well at the dinner we had there. They forgot to put our starters through. After an hour wait, the waitress came out with our main course and when we asked where our starters were we were offered them after our mains, which we declined. One of our meals was not as listed (salmon trout rather than proper trout) and there was very limited choice of red wine by the glass, which was also very expensive! When all this was questioned, the bar manager started to argue with us and only grudgingly offered an apology. There was no compensation of any sort offered - not even a free coffee. This would have cost the pub only pennies and smoothed our feelings, but was not forthcoming. Although the food we did have was nice, the long wait, the mix up and lack of apology marred the stay.
