First to say we enjoyed our stay and it was excellent value. It is an interesting and pretty site with quaint rooms and a good restaurant. But it was not perfect, our room whilst superficially clean could have done with a mould spray in the bathroom, and the plumbing was except noisy , not just from our own room but from those adjoining. So we would not recommend our room (Thyme) but I expect others would be good.

All fur coat and no manners

It was a lovely Sunday evening, so a friend and I decided to drive out to the Beamish Black Horse. We arrived just before sunset and sat in the large beer garden. The setting is idyllic – the exterior of the building is beautiful, the grounds are well maintained, and the panoramic views over the surrounding hills are stunning. It really promised a great experience, but unfortunately that’s where the positives ended.
It took over 10 minutes for my friend to be served our first drinks, despite there only being a handful of people in the small bar. Food service had already finished at 6:30pm, yet there were still pieces of cutlery on the floor, which didn’t create a great first impression.
As the evening became a little chilly, we moved inside. One young member of staff appeared to be sitting on her phone, and when I went to the bar for a third drink at around 8:45pm, I was told rather abruptly that the pub was closing at 9:00pm.
At 8:55pm, who I assume was the bar manager came over and told us, along with several other customers, that we could finish our drinks in the beer garden while the staff cleared up. This was quite ironic, as the condiments and small vase of flowers on our table appeared to have been stuck in place by layers of grime.
The toilets were also in a poor state. Only one of the five cubicles had toilet roll, the bins were overflowing, and overall cleanliness was lacking. When I mentioned this to a member of staff, my comments were met with complete disinterest.
This is such a beautiful pub in a fantastic location and it has the potential to be a real destination venue for the area. Sadly, poor customer service, disappointing cleanliness, and a lack of attention to detail let it down badly. I genuinely hope the management address these issues because the setting deserves so much

Booked Luxury studio suite !
They fail to advertise that it has a single door to adjoining rooms
Can here every thing going on in next room
Doors opening / cupboards doors / taps
People talking and arguing
Mentioned on first Day to office
Was told there was someone next door and rooms are connected but door locked. And they be leaving the following day
Fail to mention someone else had it booked. They continued their argument from the car about missed junction and language was colour full .
Getting woke up at 06:30 on a morning due to them having a shower and cupboard door banging reported again
On the 3rd time of talking to the person in the office they said someone would contact me… currently still waiting
We checked out on Friday and the same lady as if everything been ok with stay
I said apart from the earlier morning wake up call. Noise doors banging and can hear there taps and showers running. No problem also advised our bathroom door didn’t close looked like hinges had dropped and the adjacent room access was next to bathroom door which had a clear glass panel it which could be embarrassing if someone walked passed if someone was in shower.
The lady said she spoken to her manager and a bottle of wine was offered , or voucher off next stay but this was only offered when checking out. Advised would like a call from manager
Still currently waiting
Rang back and spoke to another lady on the Wednesday and was told she would call me back or manager would no call
