Perfect in every way

Centrally placed in Chelmsford with a good size car park, the County Hotel is a great place to meet up with friends or family. To celebrate my birthday, 11 friends and I met up for a savory afternoon tea. The table in the restaurant was beautifully set out with white linen tablecloth and all the trimmings. The food was of the highest quality and very delicious. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful whilst being unobtrusive and we did not feel rushed in any way. A lovely atmosphere and excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Thank you County hotel for helping to make my special birthday extra special.

Everything was lovely. Rooms a bit dated but lovely and comfy. Fab breakfast loads of choice. Couldn’t fault it

Excellent

We had afternoon tea in the Samphire restaurant. The food was superb, really superb. The staff were friendly and professional and we were not hurried, they really were welcoming. The atmosphere was so calming, it was such a lovely afternoon. Strange thing to review, but the toilets were fab, clean and pleasantly fragranced. And for me the whole place can be let down by that one factor, but NOT in the County, the whole place was beautifully clean. I really recommend the County, where the customer is thought about from start to finish, five stars from me.

While in Chelmsford

We stayed here for a few nights. The staff are superbly hospitable and helpful. The location is conveniently situated near buses and the train station. The apartment served our family’s needs space wise. We wish the rooms had been a bit more updated and tidier….perhaps a fresh coat of paint and a good steam clean on the furniture. If you are planning on being very busy and don’t intend on spending much time in the room, then you’ll be fine. There is a well appointed and convenient dining room/ restaurant and pub.
