Definitely an inn to stop at again ..excellent.

Fantastic friendly staff, absolutely gorgeous food and huge breakfast. comfy bed in spacious bedroom with huge bathroom. Opposite the cathedral and a hop away from the wall walk, the location was ideal to start the day trip from. Very good value for money. The rooms were lovely and clean. Each night we got fresh milk and a jug of iced water to take up to our room. Plenty of coffee and t.bags in the room and a hairdryer in one of the many drawers. Iron and board to use in the room which was handy.

One night, location superb

Location - excellent and a car park just round the corner
Service - great as soon as we went in welcomed and checked straight in
Breakfast - lovely and well worth it
Room - warm so left windows open until we went to sleep. There is secondary glazing so take a look and use it as it’s in the town so some noise.
Cleanliness- fair, carpet up to stairs not great. Room ok for one night, by no means dreadful but could do with just an extra burst with the cleaning.
Overall one night go for it!!

The rooms at the Coach House are a good size they are spotlessly clean have stayed here over 20 times and never had a problem. The staff are lovely pleasant informative and friendly. The bar is good as its a pub it also a restaurant the food is lovely okay portions and very tasty.
Where the Coach House is situated is excellent the Cathederal is facing and there are lovely places to eat and just short walk are the shops in beautiful old black and white structures.
I would recommend anyody to stay here i am staying again at Christmas time as the Christmas market is outside of the hotel.

Awful experience

After visiting this establishment frequently over the last six years, we have always received excellent service! Unfortunately our visit today was appalling! We travel to Chester three or four times a year, choosing this as our place to go for lunch , drinks and evening meals! We have even built up a good relationship with staff! Unfortunately today we were greeted by a rude member of staff who obviously has no people skills! We arrived around 12.30pm for lunch and drinks, behind a number of other customers, who also had no reservations, the two parties of two were both given a table for four! When we, as a group of four, were told we could only sit at a bench with high stools. This would not be an issue but we were with our elderly mum, who was clearly struggling with a broken arm, in a sling. I understand that a reservation is sometimes required, but this is not my issue! The member of staff in question should be reprimanded for her attitude and how to address situations like this! My mum left here feeling hugely disappointed, distressed and discriminated against! Needless to say we will not be returning to your establishment, which is unfortunate because of our positive past experiences with other members of staff.
