Outstanding

After a long but enjoyable day travelling down from Orkney The Birches was exactly what we wanted. Clean, comfortable, warm and well appointed. We didn't have breakfast as we were off to Inverness airport in the morning and chose to get there first before eating. Moira, the owner was very pleasant and also communicated well prior to our visit to keep us informed what to expect.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area I don't think you'd find better.

Enjoyable break with perfect weather to boot

Enjoyed a 4-night break in the Highlands and stayed at The Birches in Dingwall. The accommodation is in a new build extension at the rear of the impressive main house, which you enter via a path to the side of the house. Check in on arrival was seamless as you receive a text from Moira (the owner) advising which room you are staying in and where your room keys and guest information is left. The room I stayed in was tastefully decorated, clean and ideal for me as a single traveller.
Tea/coffee/chocolate is provided and you help yourself to milk from the fridge in the kitchen. You order what you like for breakfast on a tick list, then leave it in a plastic folder near the kitchen the night before. If you need to restock on tea/coffee etc. and have your bed made up, you leave a token on the room door.
Plenty of parking at the front - 3 spaces at front of main house then park up against the fence on the other side if these are full, leaving the double gates clear for the owners family to access.
You're very much free to come and go as you please. I met Moira at breakfast more often than not and she was friendly and hospitable. I have read some guests may have not had much, if any interaction with the owners, but this must work for them as you're left to get on with your stay and if you did need anything, they are only a phone call away.
Couldn't have visited the Highlands during a better week - the weather was fine, sunny and warm and was the perfect end to the summer.

Great location

Well located for a walk into the town centre, this establishment was great for our nights stay. Everything you could need was in your room and access to cold fresh milk from the kitchen across the way is a plus. Plenty of off street parking and a private entrance of the rear of the property is ideal too. We had a good night sleep on a comfortable bed. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't have one. Good value for the price

A good experience

An efficient guest house. Clean and well managed. Parking spaces and an eating area to the rear is helpfull. Timely breakfast and good communications make this well situated property a pleasure to reside when in this area. Receptive to customer needs.
