Hidden gem
Our room was wonderful with a stunning view of the grounds, the bed was so comfortable and the little touch of the fan and steamer were great, my only feedback would be to have a full length mirror in the room and air con in the restaurant
The staff were so wonderful and attentive, I hugely recommend a visit when heading to the Cotswolds

A birthday never to be forgotten

What a lovely thing to read, and thank you for taking the time. A surprise arranged by your daughters, the wider family gathered round, dinner in a private dining room and then coffee out in the grounds as the evening softened. That is precisely the sort of occasion this house was built for, and we were honoured to be part of it.
I am especially glad your waiter looked after you so attentively. I will make sure he knows the impression he made, as that quiet, personal kind of service is exactly what we hope every guest meets here.
A belated happy birthday to you. Please do hold everyone to their promise to return, as we shall very much look forward to welcoming you all back.
With warm wishes,
James Rich

The staff were all extremely polite and attentive, with the exception of one evening when we were left waiting to order drinks. The drinks were delivered and by way of an apology they were on the house.
Things happen in any business but I do feel it's how these things are handled which matter.
The bedroom we stayed in was very comfortable but we were surprised there was no mirror in the bedroom at all. I would've liked to have sat down in the room to get ready for the evening but had to use the bathroom, which is probably just an oversight and hopefully will be rectified.
The addition of spa facilities would be welcome and befitting of such a gorgeous location. It is a bit off the beaten track and I'm sure a spa would only add to the appeal, along with offering weddings as it is ideal for that too.
We will be back.

Excellent Hotel
Have been following the Hotel since it went under refurbishment and the first week we were free, booked to stay to enjoy this wonderful quintessential English estate, (think Downton Abbey) The week went so fast and relaxing that we are looking to stay another week soon! – just to relax
The food is absolutely delicious and the staff both friendly and professional, a hard mix to get just the right balance. Special mention please, must go to, Carman; Osca and Chris all of whom were 100% on “it” when it came to service; mixing cocktails; announcing the elements of the meal; knowing which wine to serve with a meal and chilling an Italian Red – perfect. All staff should follow their lead …
Our room was great and had a view of the grounds, the bed was comfortable and we had a fan to keep us cool – little touches that mean a lot. Would have been helpful if there was a long mirror maybe on the inside of the wardrobe door and a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang the lovely dressing gowns on, rather than on chairs
Would highly recommend staying here

Thank you — and what a lovely thing to read. That you followed the house through its restoration and then booked the first week you were free means a great deal to us; we spent two years on it, and knowing that someone was watching and waiting rather makes the point of the whole endeavour.
Your thanks have been passed to Carmen, Oscar and Chris. Chilling an Italian red without being asked is precisely the sort of quiet judgement we hope for, and they will be delighted to know it was noticed.
I'm glad the fan earned its keep, too. You are not the first to find a Cotswold summer warmer than a listed house would like, and we have been working hard at keeping rooms comfortable without disturbing the fabric of the building — so it is good to hear it is working.
On the long mirror, and hooks for the dressing gowns: you are quite right, and you are not the first to mention the mirror either. Both are in hand. They are small things, but small things are rather the point in a house like this.
We should be very glad to welcome you back for that second week whenever you are ready.
With warm wishes,
The General Manager

You would be very welcome back, whether for another Sunday at the table or for a longer stay in the house.
