Four in a Bed-0 for cleanliness
This is an email I shared with the staff.
The building is lovely and old with a great history. For that, we understand the creaky floorboards. The bed is very comfortable as well.
The problem is with the cleanliness, or lack of. Especially in the bathroom. The ceiling and grout is crawling with black mold and the tops of doors, outlet covers and inside the wardrobe have dust on them in layers. The shower also had someone else’s hair in it when we arrived. The bath towels smell of burnt plastic. The door to the bathroom was filthy with marks, dirt, stains and dust covering the entire surface.
For the price we paid for the hotel, these are things I would expect better. It is unhygienic and makes me wonder about cleanliness in other areas. For this reason we are not even considering eating here. In addition, we were told to enjoy whatever was in the fridge compliments if the hotel. Haha-it was Empty.
We were offered a bottle of wine (which we declined as we don’t drink). Due to leaving the next day, we did not put things away and therefore didn’t have them come in to clean as removing that much mold would take awhile as would the rest of the cleaning. Very disappointed for the price of the hotel.

Great hotel in a good location!
We had a pleasant stay at Leonardo Edinburgh City. The hotel does not have private parking, but Q-Park Quartermile is within walking distance.
The main entrance is in a side street. The location is great: the old town center is within walking distance.
The staff is very friendly.
Our room was on the second floor and was easily accessible by stairs or elevator. The room was fully equipped: a good bed, desk, seating area, wardrobe, safe and tea and coffee making facilities. Also an ironing board, iron, hair dryer and sufficient charging points for phones were provided. The bathroom had a neat shower/bath combination, sink and toilet.
In the morning enjoyed a fine breakfast with plenty of choice of both hot and cold dishes.
Definitely recommended for a city trip!

Hotel very close to the city center and all places to visit the breakfast is perfect and the rooms are well equipped a great hotel to spend a pleasant stay in Edinburgh. A very good address.

Great hotel, poor housekeeping.
The hotel is quite nice and conveniently located. The room was quite spacious. The buffet breakfast is tasty and the variety is quite good. My only complaint is the quality of the housekeeping. It is quite poor. Beds are badly made and a used towel was left on our bed the first day when we returned to the room. It could have only been left by the housekeeper. The toilet paper is never restocked and we had to call the front desk on two separate occasions to ask for more. The towels are also not restocked in the bathrooms. I’d be inclined to think that there are not enough housekeepers or they are poorly supervised, but at the price we paid, the cleaning service was unacceptable, turning our overall hotel experience from good to disappointing.
