Worth a stay- location and nice people.

Very nice staff and good location. Comfortable bedroom- good nights sleep. Breakfast was tremendous. They do need to change the carpet to the first floor though, it’s quite dirty.

Awful experience

We booked a month or so in advance. When we arrived, after we signed in and paid, we were told that a party was happening that night. No food was available that evening, but the party would end by 11. We were told that our room had been changed to keep us from the noise.
Unfortunately for us the party went on till 11.30, it was deafening in our room. Once the party ended the noise in the car park carried on for about 30 minutes, with one woman continuously calling loudly for someone else. After that we tried to sleep, but I couldn't settle for about 1 hour. The room was tatty with uneven flooring and needed a refurb desperately. We had to be careful not to knock into the breams, or the walls when got up in the night, and I'm only 5 foot tall!
When we got down to breakfast we had to ring someone for food and the mess from the night before was still being cleaned up.
Not a good or restful experience. We should have been warned in advance about the party and been give the option to cancel. I have given two stars because the people serving us were very polite and helpful. But I wouldn't advise staying overnight at this pub.

Great location in a quiet village. Staff were friendly and good good. Room was the suite and although quite dated was clean and comfortable. Bathroom desperately needs refurbishment with cracks in sink and vinyl flooring wearing thin,1990's style. Carpets in corridors and room grubby and in need of a clean but bedding and rest of room clean enough for a good stay.
We were the only room occupied and going down to breakfast at 9am we found no staff and the restaurant and bar areas locked. Finally a couple of members of staff turned up at 920am so luckily we did not have to be somewhere otherwise we would not have had time to eat.
All in all a pleasant stay but if you are looking for 'lovely' this is not for you. It will remain 'ok' until they up their game. Could be amazing with some TLC.

Arriving ,good parking, looked modern and inviting. We were led up steep narrow stairs extreme low head height in places to our room . Comfortable beds but could do with a better cleaner divan base was grubby. All amenities provided. Evening Meals were fairly expensive including children’s meals , breakfast suppled with room but only sparse choice on menu fine if you wanted cooked breakfast . Only there for one night but unluckily picked Quiz night brilliant for locals but as a family of four (2 young children )after a long journey wanting sleep 10-00pm plus the microphone quiz was very loud under our room . Notice should be given on booking of this event happening . Then choice could be made . Departure time given as 11-00am found two kitchen staff manning the pub with no knowledge of how to check us out . Not very professionally ran business. Wouldn’t return , but good place for local residents

We would stay again, food excellent, bed comfortable with a great fan.
The pub could do with a tidy, bin bags near the bar and one of the tables being used an office isnt a great look.
The room was functional, slightly tired.
