Had a wonderful stay at YHA during our family trip.

We had a wonderful stay at YHA during our family trip. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, making it a perfect base for exploring the Peak District.
The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. The location was peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside, yet close to many popular attractions such as Mam Tor, Castleton, Ladybower Reservoir, and Chatsworth House.
The facilities were excellent, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was great value for money and ideal for families with children.
Thank you to the entire YHA team for making our stay so enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Peak District

Great overnight stay for park walks

Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff, clean and well kept facillities, substantial breakfast! The location is perfect to get to anywhere in the National Park you would want to go

Great experience

This is our third YHA experience, but our first time in Edale.
The location, nestled in nature, is simply magnificent.
The hostel is comfortable, and the common areas are very pleasant!
The rooms are also well-heated.
The people who work at the hostel are lovely and offer excellent advice!
The breakfast is also excellent value for money.
The only two minor drawbacks I'd like to mention, in all kindness, are:
- The communal kitchen is quite small, which can be problematic when everyone arrives to cook.
- Access to the women's showers isn't very safe, in my opinion. The women's shower door is right next to the men's, and it can't be locked. So, I admit I wasn't entirely comfortable while showering.

Hi there,
Thank your for your nice review.
And we apologise that you found the kitchen too small. We are exploring where and how to install more self-catering kitchens within our hostel.
I am also unable to find any shower doors without locks. If you could email us at Edale@yha.org.uk to describe which shower door does not lock, then we can investigate further.

Great experience in a stunning location.

Great experience and another example of the brilliant work YHA are doing.
Henry on reception was helpful and welcoming.
Large lounge area was warm and comfortable.
Stayed in a single room which was small but as to be expected and easy access to bathrooms.
Great location to explore a stunning area…highly recommend.

Very haunted

The location was beautiful, very remote and really good for the price. Kinder Cottage is VERY haunted, lights turned on by themselves, doors opening, seen people peeking thru windows at us, saw a woman walk across the dining room and disappear thru a wall, and then in the morning we was told about Millie the ghost and Deborah that had died there, it’s really spooky but defo recommend if you believe in those sort of things

Hi Rosie,
Thank you for your lovely 5 star review, and we are sorry about Deborah and Millie messing with your doors and light. We will be having stern words with them when we are next in the cottage!
