Staff and bed fine but the rooms need updating.The middle window has some issues and the bath plug doesn’t work properly.For the price being charged it’s around £50 to much in my opinion but once again the staff are fantastic.

Excellent venue

This is our third visit for our annual meeting and event. Plenty of parking which is one of the requirements of our membership. The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful.
The service and food at the dinner was excellent, breakfasts were also good. Plenty of space in the bar for meeting up prior to dinner.

Near perfect stay

Lovely hotel situated in the edge of Faringdon. Reviewers said 10 min walk into town but we only found it 5 mins - not a whole lot to do (unfortunately a lot of pubs had shut down) but a small collection of shops, 2 pubs and a nice church. Staff were lovely, room was nice and had a gorgeous view of the gardens. The restaurant while the food was lovely, and service super attentive, it is definitely overpriced so without the dinner credit as part of our package, we probably would have ventured elsewhere. Breakfast was a 10/10 and a must have. Lots of review complain about dirtiness / being dated which we did not find at all. Only slight negative was water pressure in the shower but definitely not that big of a problem.
Would 100% return when the weather is sunnier as we want to explore the gardens.

AVOID!

We stayed at Sudbury House Hotel for 3 nights 9-12 September 2024.
It was a special occasion, the hotel was terrible, it needed a complete refurbishment.
The windows in the room needed replacing as they were in disgusting state, there was no mini bar, or fridge one would expect in a 4 star luxury hotel, no welcoming pack with information on breakfast times or location, no shower caps in bathroom limited amount of bath/hand wash. Bath plug leaked. Bath towels left out on bathroom after being left out to be changed. I could go on but avoid this hotel at all costs. I wrote to the owners on numerous occasions but did not get the decency of a reply to all my letters no way to run a business!

Room was clean and tidy but bathroom was very tired looking with old electric power shower and no hot water.
Felt very sorry for the one staff member in the evening who was trying to run reception, take bar orders and serve dinner at once.
