Peaceful location, room was spotless and showed no sign of wear and tear. Food was excellent, there's even a lot of choices for cooked breakfasts.

You have to give it a try.

We visited the Davron for food while visiting the east coast. I'm so glad we did as the food was really nice. For starters I decided to try the Scallops and the better half opted for the Brie wedges. It wasn't the biggest portion of Scallops to be honest, but they were beautifully cooked and tasted excellent. The Brie portion was a better size and I did taste them and they too were nice. For mains we both went for the Beef Stroganoff and so glad we did. Plenty of meat a delicious sauce and a good size for what we paid. The staff were great, polite, attentive and smiling. I think the girl who saw us to the table and sorted our biĺ was called Karen although other staff waited on us too. Another bonus for me was the had 80 shilling beer on draught, such a welcome change from the usual happy ales or lagers. If I wanted to be picky I would say the public bar ( where we went first) was quite noisy with locals who crowded around the bar and wouldn't step away so I could get served. It's annoying when your leaning over someone's shoulder to pick your drinks up and they won't move. Some of the language was a bit keen too. That said I would and will happily return as we are heading that way in September. So 2 starters and 2 mains came to £51.80 pretty good for the quality of the food. Give it a try.

No lift and very big stairs - view worth it however.

Comfortable hotel

This is the second time I have stayed here. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are a good size and the beds are very comfortable. Rooms are very clean. The shower worked very well. The towel was of good quality. Breakfast is very filling and there are plenty of choices. Parking is easy at the front of the hotel. The road it is on is very quiet and you can see the sea from the front of the hotel. The restaurant is large with quite an extensive menu. Portions are too big. If you are in the area this is the place to stay.

Friendly, welcoming reception, very clean and tidy room with lovely view over towards the sea..Free parking just at entrance.Excellent evening meal, lovely fresh haddock, well cooked.Breakfast kippers just great.
