Excellent value, spacious room but still cosy.

Great little B&B. Perfect for what we needed, as we were visiting friends nearby. Mattress could probably do with a topper but apart from that, it was excellent value for money. We paid extra for a breakfast one morning, which was excellent.

Overpriced, Under Delivered.

We didn't stay in the hotel, just popped in for a quick pub lunch. It was extremely disappointing. The restaurant is like stepping back in time to a small 1970's cafe. The menu is cheap and cheerful, but the prices are not (for what you get!). We chose a ploughman's lunch - fully expecting to actually get a ploughman's lunch! We did not. When it arrived it was served on a large long slate. I think this is to make it look like a big generous portion. However, it is very spread out. The salad element was small, thinly shredded and a measly amount. It looked like it had seen better days as the lettuce was going brown around the edges. We had one and a half cherry tomatoes cut in two, two thin slices of cucumber, 3 rolls of thin cheap supermarket ham (the kind that comes in a square packet), 4 small slices of apple (going brown around the middle), a small pot of coleslaw, a small pot of pickle, a few pickled onions, 2 x slices of thin, cheap bread, a few crisps, 2 portions of margarine and a small amount of grated cheese. To me, this was not a ploughman's, it was a cheese salad. There is a big difference. And at almost £12.00 I expected to get the ploughman's! Needless to say we won't be heading back there anytime! A big disappointment, no wonder it was practically empty on Father's Day!

Wedding Reception

We had our wedding reception in the White Horse.
The food was excellent, accomaded for special dietary requirements and also children.
Disco at night and bar staff Diane was very attentive to our guests.
We stayed over, and guests. Nice clean and comfortable rooms.

Great Wee Inn with good food , rooms , and bar.

We love old Scottish Inns and this is a great example. Rooms are dated but the room heating and shower were good , comfortable beds , clean room , and easy parking.Fish and chips for dinner - EXCELLENT. And the breakfast was very good as well. The silver lining was the owners and staff - very welcoming , helpful , and friendly. And - a great bar. All in all , loved it.

Not great.

Stayed here one night on a cycle trip. I had pre arranged for secure storage for my bike but on arrival, no one seemed to know where to put it. My room was on the second floor - newish carpets on the stairs. I was looking forward to a hot shower but the water temperature was, at best, tepid. The bath towel was old and thin with holes in it. Last orders for meals was 6.30 pm but as far as I could see only two of us ate that evening. Menus was full of burgers but not much else. The dining room itself was reminiscent of a works canteen. Not recommended.
