Excellent stay
What a beautiful hotel. Excellent service from the moment you walk through the door. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding too. Our bedroom was spacious and very comfortable with a phone charger by the bed, the bathroom again very spacious and I loved the shower. Would highly recommend this hotel and definitely would stay there again.

Unwelcomely, rundown and a bedroom view of a brick wall.
So disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Never before have I written a review but I felt I had to. On arrival I was just pointed to where restaurant was, taken to a room once lovely though now well worn with a view of a brick wall from the windows. Surely if a hotel is not busy, a guest should be moved from the least desirable room. No contact after arrival, no how’s your day, welcome back, just brushed aside in the hall way. I literally had to step back as a member of staff strode past.

I always choose Hotels du Vin above any others, for location, ambience, personnel, comfort, welcome, taste in furnishings, and consistent,amazing cuisine.
Should I ever inherit, win, a substantial amount of money I wouldn't desert Hotel du Vin for anything so-called upmarket. I love boutique, loathe big fancy alternatives. York is lovely, Newcastle the favourite....until we visited Glasgow. I'm now torn between these 2. Not so impressed with Edinburgh but that was wholly down to the building; otherwise Edinburgh is fine.
If I need an uplift, Hotel du Vin - a meal or stay - ticks all my boxes. Really grateful we have these residences.

Great all round experience
Amazing as always! Staff are consistently great, which lends itself to a relaxed friendly vibe between customers & other guests. Food was terrific - dining in bar or restaurant is superb & the breakfast selection is great. All rooms are different so it’s always fun to see which one you get.

Exceptional hotel and caring, attentive staff - worth paying the extra for
We stayed at the Du Vin Hotel in Glasgow, for 3 nights (late August 2026), after visiting the Isle of Mull, and before flying back to Hertfordshire. The hotel is in a beautiful West End location, and very convenient for exploring this wonderful city. It comprises 5 classic town houses that have been combined into one, so that you can walk through all of the houses on the ground floor level. We loved our Classic room, which was on the top floor at the far end (House 5). Our bed was huge and very comfortable, with top quality linen as you would expect. The adjoining bathroom and shower was lovely too, preserving many original features. The decor is beautiful and tasteful throughout the hotel, as are the furnishings. The stain glass windows and staircases are absolutely magnificent and worthy of lots of photos. The hotel feels opulent, yet also authentic and so comfortable. The bar is a such lovely space - beautifully furnished and laid out with mirrors, Victorian fireplace, great seating and chandeliers - a lot of thought has gone into this room. The young lady who ran the bar while we were staying there deserves a special mention as she was super friendly and attentive. Also of particular note (for us) was that after we had checked out of our room, we left our bags with the reception staff to collect later - and when we returned to collect them they were so friendly and helpful and allowed us to use the lounge area to recharge our phones and sort our bags out before our flights home. Little touches like this make such a difference. We would definitely pick this hotel if we visit Glasgow again - it isn't the cheapest but it is exceptional. Tim & Gill
