A Safe and Welcoming Stay

I had a very pleasant three-night stay at this hotel while travelling for work.
The location was excellent, particularly for my trip, as it was conveniently located close to the offices. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. The service was excellent, and the food was lovely.
The room was clean and comfortable, although it was clear that some areas are in need of a little TLC. The hotel seems to recognise this, and it looks like a refurbishment programme may be starting soon, which will be a great improvement.
The hotel offered good value for money and was comfortably within budget for a work trip. The noise levels were also good, making it easy to relax and get a good night's sleep. For a three-star hotel, I thought the amenities were good and more than adequate for a business stay.
As a woman travelling alone, I also want to highlight how safe and comfortable I felt throughout my three nights there. This was particularly important to me, and I felt incredibly safe and well looked after during my stay.
Overall, I had a really positive experience and would happily stay here again when travelling for work.

I would avoid

The location was ok. Atmosphere wasn't great. The room was not worth the price at all, it needed a full refurb and the bathroom was falling apart, it also with a weird smell. cleanliness wasn't good. the noise level was the only good thing. the staff were friendly enough. there wasn't much amenities.

A superb relaxing stay.

We stayed for one night in order to attend a family event. The hotel is in a lovely, tranquil location, great parking. All staff were friendly and professional and our room was large, clean with comfortable beds (we spent twice the amount for a room, less than half the size,in London recently). We had dinner in the hotel at the treetops restaurant and it was very good and great value.
Only issue is that the breakfast room needs to be moderized a bit.

Tired & depressing

Lovely friendly check-in but the rest was disappointing. Everywhere is so tired & almost depressing. Our double room was small, so much so that when the bathroom door was open, we couldn't see the tiny TV. There was a blank wall opposite the bed - why on earth wasn't the TV on that? Reception poor - kept buffering.
Bathroom was horrible: black grouting, peeling away. Health hazard & unpleasant.
There was a permanent, nasty smell in the room- not sure if we were above smokers' corner or if it was the nearby chemical works.
Light bite in restaurant was fine but service was very slow.
The lady in reception had warned us that a French party were due for breakfast at 7.30 so we went down for 8. Sadly, that meant that the croissants & decent bread had all gone. Only cheap sliced was left. Fruit was melon & tinned mandarins! Only strawberry yogurt. Never seen scrambled eggs like it - looked as if they'd been cooked as one piece in an oven or waterbath & then chopped up!!!! No fried eggs.
Overall, I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay.
