We had a really lovely stay. Staff were all friendly, breakfast was delicious. We didn’t eat in either restaurant but it all looked good. Our room was clean and spacious with a good view. The only criticism was the bathroom. It’s looking tired and needs updating. Didn’t put us off though and we’d happily return

Good staff, nice location, rooms need updating
We visited and stayed as part of a wedding party.
The staff were all friendly and helpful right from check-in to check-out.
The food for the wedding party was curry with a meat and veggie option and was fine given that you have to cater for a wide range of tastes.
The continental breakfast was rather limited and didn’t really stand alone. I usually only have a good continental breakfast but opted to follow this one with a veggie full English, which was excellent! I ate it all even though I didn’t really need it.
Our room (12) was noisy into the evening as it is on ground level and in front of the outdoor seating area, so if you need to get to sleep early I’d advise asking for a room at the back.
For me, sleep was a real challenge as it’s a small double bed and my husband kept hitting me whenever he turned over. I had a very bad night.
Facilities in the room are fairly basic but generally adequate and the bedroom feels a little shabby (not in a chic way) but all the cabinetry was in good working order.
The bathroom was clean and looks fairly new but sadly the shower thermostat was not working and I couldn’t reduce the temperature to a comfortable heat.
Shower gel/shampoo is provided, but no other toiletries.
All in all, a nice atmosphere and good staff, the rooms just need some updating.

AMAZING HOTEL AND FRIENDLY STAFF
Absolutely beautiful hotel, we went to a family wedding here in August and couldn’t fault a thing, the food was amazing, the function room was beautiful and the staff were super friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue

Amasing wedding venue
My wife and i got married and had our reception here. Food was out of this world . Fantastic . Service amazing and the staff was awesome.
From the first stage they gave us what we wanted. .. can u do this its ur wedding yes we can. And my god they did and more.
We had 28 guests for a 3 course meal then a buffet in the evening for 60 guests . The food was out of this world not one person could eat all there food they were full then came a buffet that was top class.
If you want ask u get it.
Its ur wedding dont be told what you can have go here tell them what u want... done. They set up the room and stripped it . U would be silly not too take this place too the top of ur list .

Wedding reception
We had a fantastic wedding reception at Mount Pleasant Hotel in August of this year. We received helpful and friendly communication from the team at Mount Pleasant from the offset
Nothing was too much trouble including some last minute guest additions. We were in the Dame Laura Knight Suite which was perfect for our small family wedding.
The entire team went above and beyond to make our wedding reception a wonderful experience for all of us who attended especially in the heat we had that day. Catering was superb and the 3 course meal was delicious. The team also very kindly arranged for a cake stand set up for our wedding cake. We all had a brilliant time. Thank you to all at Mount Pleasant for helping us have such a special day.
