Great place, let down by little things, especially poor SERVICE

I was surprised to hear South African accents, always a good thing! Unfortunately after I was shown my room, I became invisible! In the restaurant I had to wait AGES every time I needed to order another drink, while other people had attention lavished on them. Came down for breakfast a little early, first one there, but of course SECOND to get attended to! A couple got there after me and a staff member followed them in and didn`t worry about "who`s first" or anything like that, just helped them first. Showed them right down to the tables, found them seats they liked etc., just pointed the way for me! I didn`t perceive this as a 5* hotel, I would give it 3* max. I did not experience any of the traditional South African friendliness/welcome that I would have expected. They were efficient and business-like, not warm and friendly. Maybe they just didn`t like me, who knows? Anyway, baie dankie julle! Yes, if you`d taken the time to speak to me, you would know that I speak Afrikaans, albeit a little rusty.

Bunny chow!

Best bunny chow I’ve had and I’ve had many! Delicious, tender meat, little bit sweet little bit spicy, perfect! Also had the meat sharing platter, a no brainer! I will definitely be returning.

We received a warm welcome at the Percy Arms, the owners and staff were all very friendly. The room was lovely and it was very pleasant to be able to sit outside for our evening meal. The food was excellent, very tasty and beautifully presented. We will happily return for another visit and nice to have a taste of South African cooking.

A one night stay here at Percy Arms was very enjoyable. Room was spacious & very clean. Parking was very easy and close to hotel. Staff were very good and very sociable.
Meal in the evening was lovely and I found a wonderful new glaze for my steaks. Monkey Gland sauce was the glaze on my steak which was fabulous. I will be going out to find this sauce which is South African. I did leave behind a phone charger and a belt and the hotel have informed me that they will return them to my home. So excellent service. I wonder if their chef would put a little bottle of the Monkey Gland sauce in the parcel. Would def stay here again and would recommend
