It was a quaint building, the rooms were of a good size, very clean, with a tv & everything you could want, plenty of tea & coffee etc, with extras if needed, our bathroom was across a very small corridor, but it was just ours & they supply robes for you to use. Nicky & Philip were great hosts & accommodated us arriving a bit earlier, which was much appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic, a big table laden with fruit, homemade muesli, yogurt, local, honey & pastries & then a choice of what you want from a full English, it was all delicious. It was perfect for our one night stay

Amazing, welcoming, full of character and home away from home.

Amazing Stay, lots of parking space. You enter through a little arch gate into a beautiful colourful garden full of character. Philip and Nicky were so friendly and welcoming, they took the time to chat to us and ask us about our stay. We were given all the information we needed about the hotel and the surrounding area. We went up the winding stairs to our room which was well serviced with everything we needed, ample amount of tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities with biscuits, toiletries, sweet treats and water and if we needed more of anything it was in baskets placed around the hall way. Everywhere was spotless. We then went into a Tudor style room for breakfast which was amazing, A variety of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, croissants, full fry if you wanted or eggs cooked anyway you wanted with toast. As much of a selection of juices, tea and coffee that you wanted. We have been travelling for over 30 years and have never stayed in such a welcoming hidden gem as The Olde Forge Hotel. car park nice and close. owners helpful and professional. breakfast lots of choice but too much sugar food stuffs for diabetics - need some no/low sugar options in cereals but I didn't ask as they owners had other things going on - am am sure they would have reacted if I had made the point. Overall a good easy place to stop over and comfortable clean room was good.

Philip and Nicky made us feel so welcome, very friendly ,
accommodation very clean tidy and comfortable.
The breakfast lay out was outstanding and cooked breakfast was absolutely top notch.
Overall our 2 night stay was an absolute pleasure ,we had considered a Premier Inn, but let me tell you the service here out ranked them completely.Great value too.
Can't recommend this wonderful hotel enough.

Stayed there for 2 nights,solo female traveller and 11 yo son, he's autistic, however ,I didn't tell the staff about his diagnosis as we always have hotel stays without any problems,on second night he was noisy around shower time started to meltdown which can happen when he is exhausted,was 9:30 pm, I had terrible knocking on the floor,few minutes later,the manager lady came to my door and practically was shouting at me to stop the noise, I was trying my best anyway to calm him down aiming to get him out of shower straight to bed, I don't mind getting notices for this, but the very unfriendly gesture of her made me feel terrible which never happened in many hotels we stayed before, he finally went to bed minutes after she left and was calm . Myself I will never go there again and advise any Sen child parents to think before they book there.
